Blade Trilogy Slipcover - will New Line offer it?

I was at Best Buy today and saw the slipcover that houses all three Blade films. It was pretty impressive I thought. Does anybody know if New Line will be offering this slipcover separately? I do know that the Trilogy Set includes a comic (if I recall), but that does not interest me as much. It would be nice though if New Line offered for sale the slipcover, kind of like what they did with the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Versions).

I'd doubt it but ya never know.

Mike Lowrey 04-27-05 09:29 PM

What kind of comic? My copy of Unrated Trinity came with a comic book similar to what The Punisher came with. Is it the same?

tofferman 04-27-05 09:43 PM

Yes Mike, that is the one I saw. If they were to offer that slipcover for a couple of dollars, say $3, I would buy it.

Rammsteinfan 04-27-05 09:47 PM

Id buy it too for $3...

buckee1 04-27-05 09:53 PM

You can count me in for $3 as well.

I'd buy a keepcase for my Blade 1 DVD for $1...

I did this at the time when Blockbuster was giving an $8 dollar store credit for any used dvd. It was $10 at target so I sold my snapper copy for $8 to Blockbuster and used the store credit for something else. It worked out to be $2 plus tax.

Lord of the Rings were highly critically acclaimed epics that sold in massive quanities. The Blade films were highly critically panned comic book movies that are loved by a small audience. I woudn't hold out hope.

I don't think they were "highly critically panned," and i think that they were well recieved by more then just a small audience, considering their surprisingly solid box office takes (at least the first two anyway, not so much the third). But i agree, the Blade series isn't the type of film with a large enough audience to do something special like a case for New Line.

we can only hope.

Best Buy has a combo deal for Blade Trinity & the original Blade for $20 for Reward Zone Members. There's a coupon in the Bargains Forum somewhere for a free Reward Zone Membership through the end of the month.

Blockbuster is currently giving $7 in store credit for the original Blade so you could trade your old snapper Blade in for $7 store credit at Blockbuster.

Cool. I'm headed to Blockbuster with my old Blade in the morning!

Thanks for the info.

The original Blade at BB is in keepcase, right?

Fincher Fan 04-28-05 03:19 AM

How is the quality of the box? Is it sturdy cardboard like the Indiana Jones boxset, for example?

Yes, I picked up the 2for20 deal at Best Buy and they had keepcases. I also ordered the box set from Columbia House for the box because I really want it. -smile-

Has New Line ever offered to buy a slip case from one of their other sets besides LOTR?

SuprVgeta 04-28-05 09:06 PM

I'd definitely buy one for $3, just like I did for LOTR.

stargun 04-28-05 10:44 PM

It would be nice if you could get one for all movie for like the shipping with 3 proof of purchase tads, like Harry Potter, Batman, ect

Dai 04-28-05 11:13 PM

Has anyone emailed New Line to ask????

tofferman 04-29-05 08:57 AM

I was on their website (www.newline.com), but couldn't find a customer service email address. Maybe I was looking in the wrong area. If there was enough interest from collectors like those who have looked at this thread (500+), they would consider it. Most slipcovers are not as attractive as the Blade Trilogy imho.

Mike Lowrey 04-29-05 12:04 PM

Does the keepcase version of Blade come with an insert?

If it doesn't, then why not just scavage a keepcase from one of your double-dips or something and print up a cover for it.

I replaced mine ages ago (not long after Blade II came out) and have gone through three different custom covers for them [all].
