Squirrel God 04-22-05 05:36 PM

I've seen a July 19th release date at some retailers.

Shagrath 04-23-05 07:17 AM

I just put in an order for the 2-disc R3 over at cd-wow. Only $14.95 and says ships on June 16th.

Third Baseman 04-23-05 11:01 AM

I can't wait. :o I loved this film. rotfl

Nagheenanajar 04-25-05 09:00 AM

No official date yet, but this is what dvdanswers is reporting. It's barebones except for deleted scenes and its trailer. Looks like WB is following Fox's route.

Title: Constantine
Starring: Keanu Reaves
Released: June/July 2005 (TBC)
SRP: $27.95 Each

Further Details
Warner has kindly sent over the official artwork for horror flick Constantine which stars Keanu Reaves and Rachel Weisz. I went ahead and pre-ordered it @ CDWOW as well. At roughly, $18, this is a no-brainer for me.

majorjoe23 04-27-05 04:49 PM

$14.95 was too good to pass up, especially since we will be lucky to get the barebones version for that at Best Buy.

steebo777 04-27-05 06:42 PM

I think the barebones editions art is hideous personally. I'm not too keen on the special edition art either.

Zodo 04-27-05 07:08 PM

I'll wait a few more weeks, and if the CE isn't announced for the US then i'll just get the R3 version.

EDIT: nevermind, I went ahead and ordered the R3 anyways. As mentioned above- 14.95 is too good to pass up.

Mike Lowrey 05-02-05 05:58 PM

Well, folks...

Didn't you just see this coming (from DVDAnswers):

Well, that cover absolutely sucks. Here's hoping that it'll be in a 2-disc keepcase and I can get some custom cover art for it.

fryinpan1 05-02-05 06:40 PM

I will blind buy the deluxe edition if Columbia House has it.

rossbrew 05-02-05 06:52 PM

I can't believe Constatine was eliminated from American Idol last week...although I think a SE dvd is alittle too much considering he didn't win...

Zodo 05-02-05 07:01 PM

Well, I guess i'll keep my pre-order with cd-wow. I still seriously doubt that you'll be able to find the 2-disc version for $14.95 in the US.

Plus the R3 version comes out a month earlier.

Same here.. I just love the way studios treat the R1 people sometimes. Just another reason I'm glad I went region-free a long time ago.

fumanstan 05-02-05 09:14 PM

I'll probably pick up the 2 disc, as i enjoyed the film quite a bit.

steebo777 05-03-05 08:20 AM

Defineitely picking up the two discer. Great flick and the cover is leaps and bounds better than the one discer.

Duder 05-03-05 12:00 PM

I'm slightly disappointed that we aren't getting an extended cut option, but at least we get the deleted scenes the director's talked about. And I like the cover posted above. I think it's very striking and artistic. The vertical and horizontal symmetry of it is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it fits well with the themes of Zoroastrian duality presented in the film. Plus the vertical line separating the black and the white combined with the title form a sort of subliminal cross.

Okay, so they probably didn't intend any of that, but I still maintain that it's worlds better than a floating heads montage.

And please tune in tomorrow, same time, same channel for the next DVD covert art lesson in aesthetics.... :D In the meantime, we can all do a :grouphug:

AeroStone 05-03-05 05:30 PM

2 Disc'er w/Comic Book THANK YOU! I freakin LOVED that movie!

I'm all over that dvd set like a Huffer on a can of spray paint!

Masamune 05-03-05 06:05 PM

Don't like the cover. Keanu looks like he's blinded by the sun...lol.

Josh-da-man 05-03-05 07:45 PM

I don't like the cover art for the 2-discer at all, but I'll be buying it to support movies based on Vertigo Comics properties. (Too bad they didn't have Tim Bradstreet design a really bitching cover for it.)

majorjoe23 05-04-05 10:29 AM

Will the Region 3 DVD have the comic book in English, or Regionthreeeneese?

boe 05-09-05 09:33 AM

Hello,

I read the dvdanswers and want to make sure I'm not missing anything. I like watching the film and want the best sound recording. I don't think I'd miss anything by getting the basic edition but want to make sure. Did anyone see anything e.g. DTS, alternate endings, deleted scenes not included in the basic that are covered in the deluxe edition? It looks like they both have the stuff I care about but don't want to double dip.

I never watch the commentaries so I'm not concerned about missing that stuff I just want to watch the movie at the best quality - audio/video.

THanks
