Ocean's 12 censored from blockbuster or all of them??
During the 1st 15 minutes (thats all the torture I could take) their is 1 scene where the work 'fuck' was bleeped out.. they even got the subtitles..
Was this just blockbuster or are all of them that way... thankz |
this is what screenit.com says
Basher and a recording engineer or manager listen to a recorded song in the studio that has many bleeped out "f" words in it. Basher and that man then discuss those bleeps, using many "f" words that are drowned out by a noise in the studio (all played for laughs, but one can easily tell what word they're using by associated phrases and by reading their lips). so in other words, it was like this in theaters also (and they bleeped them also probably to get a pg-13 as well) |
That's defintely the way I remember it in the theater.

as buckee1 noted this is how the scene is played out in the theatrical cut of the film. (no changes)
|
It's quite obviously a deliberate joke, as the characters are complaining about having to bleep out swear words from their songs for radio play.
|
It is part of the film, and it is a deliberate joke. One of my favorite sequences early in the film.
|
Ya I thought that was on purpose when I saw it in the theater as well.
|
I didn't see Oceans 12, but it sounds like this is a ripoff of a similar scene in the movie "Kuffs", with Christian Slater. Anyone remember that?

 That's the only thing I remember too!
|
How can anyone watching this NOT know that it was a joke on purpose?

This is pretty obviously a deliberate joke.
And before you ask, if the DVD doesn't have subtitles for what the Chinese guy is saying, that's also a deliberate joke since all the other characters understand what he's saying. Of course they might have decided just to sub it anyways, but I hope not since I thought it was pretty funny (especially since I actually understood what he was saying). Then again half the fun was watching the rest of the audience look completely puzzled as to what in the world was going on. Hahah |
