Mischief Dvd
I just bought MISCHIEF on DVD, and watched it.
As good as the movie is, I was a bit disappointed on how Fox and Anchor Bay treated this release. For one, there are no special features attached to it; not even a TRAILER! And two, the transfer is likely non-anamorphic (I say that because I remember watching it on TV, and seeing more stuff in the areas of where the black bars are). So this transfer actually shows LESS than expected. I'll still hold on to the DVD, but it's a shame that Fox and Anchor Bay didn't do anything with MISCHIEF. There should've been an anamorphic transfer in which EVERYTHING is seen (not having things cut off). Oh, well...it's too bad there won't be another edition of this at all. So live and let live... |

It's anamorphic.
But for future reference, whether something is non-anamorphic or anamorphic, has NO bearing on whether the image is cropped or not. Cropping is to do with aspect ratio. EDIT - djtoell beat me to it :) |
Damn -- I forgot this movie is out already. I need to pick it up.

if your wondering why he's slightly complaining about the full frame showing more.

http://www.celebritymoviearchive.com/tour/name.php/25 If anyone is buying this movie for the sole purpose of viewing Kelly Preston's breasts, don't buy the movie. -rolleyes- This is an excellent movie with so much going for it I think I can stand missing some of the nudity to have this anamorphic dvd release!!! :) |

I asked about this important issue (loss of video information due to soft matting) in another forum and was told a clip had already been posted here. I was overjoyed as it looked to me like the DVD was framed to my liking. Is the downloadable clip in that link not representative of the DVD?

As young boys, my brother and I grew up watching Mischief on HBO. Just finished watching the dvd. Pure classic!!
Any word on a soundtrack release? |
I picked this up -- very nice transfer for a film of its age.
Kelly Preston was, without a doubt, perfect looking --- I mean EVERYTHING of her was perfect. |
