Season 2 DVD Releases
Has anyone else realized how many series have only gotten a first season dvd release?
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has heard any news on "Everwood Season 2" or "Party of Five Season 2"? Thanks!

If a DVD doesn't have a season 2 release, you can probably chalk it up to poor season 1 sales... which is why so many seasons only release season 1.
What is the incentive to design, package, market and sell a DVD set that is likely to sell worse than the DVD release before it?
It sucks for fans of the shows, but money makes the world go round.
Your only hope is to find some DVD quality downloads and make your own or do your best to convince the company to release it.

This is why I don't buy these obscure TV shows that may not have a DVD market big enough to warrant the entire release. Quite frankly, I'm surprised sets like The A-Team, Knight Rider, and Greatest American Hero got more than one season releases.
Some shows like Remington Steele and others like it, I can't see being fully released. How many old time fans of these '80s shows are gonna want to buy these niche shows.

I know of people who won't buy a season 1 set before they see that other seasons will follow. Personally, I'm anxiously awaiting Party of Five: S2 (and on)...

i am SO surprised to see no Ren And Stimpy Season 3 i thought that season 1 and 2 set would be selling pretty good
I would like to get Party of Five season 2. You'd think they would try to use the popularity of Lost to push Party of Five.

Yup. Tvshowsondvd had said the date for the Ren & Stimpy Season 3 & 4 set was pencilled in as 6/28/05. The remaining seasons would be in the fall, in oct. or november! I hadn't heard anymore about it though.

I forgot to mention the mother of all second seasons: Twin Peaks. There seems to be movement, according to tvshowsondvd.com, but I'll believe it when I see it...

I'm waiting for the second season of "Home Movies" myself. First season's been out for a while now...

i trhink often Season 1 isn't as good as future seasons. I didn't buy Simpsons season one, but started at two. Starsky and Hutch Season 1 had diff theme music and I enjoy 2 better. Still waiting on Happy Days season 2 (music rights slowing) as that show got better as Fonzie lost the pale jacket and Chuck disappeared.
Just saying...it's too bad often inferior seasons have to dictact future releases, as shows often "find their stride" in later seasons.
