This auction is a little much, wouldn't you say?

This is an eBay home page featured auction. He's paying more to list it than he's going to get for it.

EDIT: Check out his other auctions for more entertainment.

Deceased Dad's personal Items .. Set his Spirt FREE!
including "1. The Funeral register signed by all mourners. (First 3 signatures are my sister then 19, me then 13, my brother than 18)"

And the ones where he's selling envelopes with 'currency' [I'm thinking Monopoly money]

Would his offer to grant any wish be q legally binding contract? He offers to paint your house every year, couldn't the winning bidder hold him to it?

darkhawk 04-04-05 01:45 PM

I'd like to know where he got his Pleasantville in a keepcase at.

check out another of his sights:

I doubt it... because you are "formally" bidding on a Pleasantville DVD. His wishing granting is a "bonus".

andicus 04-04-05 02:22 PM

Depending how you read his auction, it could be that the wish is only granted if the final bid price is exactly $4.13 (which it's already over).

Although, from his other auctions, he appears to be somewhat loopy, so perhaps he's intending to honour this one as well.

Maybe it's one of the movies they reissued in a keepcase, like they did with the Austin Powers movies. That's my guess.

RichardW 04-04-05 03:43 PM

We should all pool our money together and bid on his auction to rename him. "DVD Talk" has a nice ring to it.

If so he should post that info here.

Anybody found Pleasentville in a keep case

joliom 04-04-05 06:34 PM

This guy's gonna end up doing sexual favors for some weirdo (while watching Pleasantville)...

TimRP 04-05-05 03:56 AM

Forget that auction this is all you need: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...569364441&rd=1

DVD Polizei 04-05-05 04:22 AM

I'd kill him just for posting the most annoying layout. Ever.

Dabaomb 04-05-05 04:39 AM

THE EXACT PRICE AT WHICH MY BONUS WILL APPLY AT IS $4.13

I can't believe that the bid is actually up to $17.50 -rolleyes-

No. To be binding, a contract requires consideration for a promise, i.e., both parties have to receive something. A one-sided promise is never legally binding. This guy is not receiving money for his promise (just for the DVD), so he would not be legally bound by it.

There are also limits on contracting for human services and labor. Basically, contract law doesn't want to validate something like slavery again.

buckee1 04-05-05 10:23 AM

He's got some serious issues.

If someone wins the time machine and it doesn't work, will Ebay refund the final purchase price?

Class316 04-05-05 01:11 PM

$140 for a stupid box? I'm in the wrong business :(

BobSolo 04-05-05 03:51 PM

Mr Extreme is bidding on the time machine. Bet he's hoping to go back in time and pull the auction that grants a wish.

invisiblegt 04-05-05 04:05 PM

I think I'm going to buy Pleasantville. I mean, keepcase and a bonus wish?

(Damn. It's fullscreen. Curse you MAR!)

Did you notice that a majority of the feedbacks were from somebody named BeckyXX where XX is some number. Hmm...guess Becky didn't have a real boyfriend.
