Is Starman properly flagged as widescreen?

I just picked it up and want to know if the DVD is properly flagged as widescreen before opening it. I have a widescreen TV and when a non-anamorphic is improperly flagged as 4X3 it displays with black bars all around the image. Unfortunately I do not have a zoom function on the TV or DVD player. So anyone know?

All non-anamorphic widescreen DVDs display black bars on all four sides of a widescreen TV. Are you certain that both your TV and DVD player don't have a zoom feature, though? That seems hard to believe. :hscratch:

"All non-anamorphic widescreen DVDs display black bars on all four sides"

This is incorrect. Non-anamorphic DVDs are either flagged as 4X3 or widescreen so that a player can automatically display the image correctly. I have a few dozens DVDs that are nonanamorphic widescreen and they automatically display correctly on my player. And unfortuantely I've looked at both my player and TV and neither of them have a zoom feature.

Starman is anamorphic widescreen.
