I LOVED Elektra,and proudly display an Elektra Poster in my room. That doesn't help the movie now that I think of it,but I loved the movie. And I'm a fan of Affleck. I too don't get it.

I have a funny feeling, based on the dialogue, that this was meant to be the original opening. All the other clips are much the same as in the finished film.

I have to make a slight correction here. There's one other scene shown in one of the "Inside The Editing Room" featurettes that shows a different cut of when Stick decides to kick Elektra out of his "school". I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bunch of Terence Stamp footage lying around as it's not cut remotely close to the memory flash style used in the finished film. And it doesn't look like a rough edit either. I suspect a lot of last minute trimming went on to de-emphasize her training and motives.
