I thought that WB held the rights to "MAGIC" with Anthony Hopkins, no mention of that one. Now I'm not sure who the hell owns the rights. It would nice to hear ANYTHING about this one!!!!

Good call. I assumed WB owned this as well. Too bad there was no news.

A lot I have been holding out for here and, thus, have kept my VHS:

-The Maltese Falcon: This deserves the Casablanca/Kane treatment and I am glad they are giving it the release it deserves.
-Network: Finally!
-Streetcar: Has been on my upgrade list for a long time.
-Wizard of Oz: This one should be really, really good with all the material they have!
-King Kong: Let's all say it is about damn time.

-A Pre-code boxset coming in 2006: Now this should be really, really interesting. Warner box sets are the best parts of my collection and their use of their great library for theme sets are great.

-MORE GANGSTERS!!! Can't wait for that!

-Anyone want to speculate on the Four major Bogart films are being restored from the original camera negative for release in 2006. I am guessing:
-The Big Sleep
-Key Largo
-High Sierra
-The already mentioned Maltese Falcon

Warner is the Godsend for all classic film fans! :)

I'd love to see both versions on the disc so that the fans can decide how "Kubrick wished it to be" since in this rare case, the OAR is muddy.

I attended the Warner chat, and only a SE of 2001 was announced: there are no plans for other Kubrick SEs.

Bummer. I was hoping for a SE of The Killing.

Warner doesn't have the rights to The Killing. MGM does.

So I think we can expect more SEs than just 2001.

I must have remembered it incorrectly. I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out how to effectively YO as well as cursing the ignorant questions.

I guess that'd be a problem then. ;)

Rather disappointing that Everwood Season Two hasn't been planned yet.

I'm referring to A Clockwork Orange, Lolita, and Barry Lyndon, where 1.66:1 is the correct aspect ratio. They should be anamorphic.

Now, for The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, and Eyes Wide Shut, yes, it would be nice to have two versions so everyone is satisfied.

So...do we TRIPLE DIP on Kubrick, or wait for HD-DVD/Blu-Ray??? Man, what a toughie. Might have to hold out for HD.

Why did that guy ask about The Fugitive? It's been less than four years since they revisited it with a new transfer and added supplements. I guess anything can be improved, but you have to have priorities.

I wish someone would have asked about confirmation on their plans for titles that were released in snapper cases. I presume they're going to sell off the remaining stock first, and when it comes time to manufacture new copies of titles that were in snappers, they will be in keepcases instead. Is this correct, or will they continue to make snappers for the titles that originally came in them? According to the thread about Warner titles in keepcases, North by Northwest is the only title they've "rereleased" in a keepcase, and that was only available as part of a boxed set (except for that keepcase version of The Perfect Storm that was part of the Wolfgang Petersen set a few years ago). I haven't seen any individual Warner titles that were in snappers now in keepcases.

Paramount owns the Mission Impossible tv series and movies.

Glad to hear that Ben-Hur is a new transfer. Hopefully they fix some of the framing problems that plagued the first release.
