need some help..
Guys,
Only just signed on this forum and am looking forward to posting here and getting involved in some general DVD talk. Just wandered if osmeone could help me. Looking through the posts I see that some of you have your DVD lists posted on various websites with links making it easier to view your collection. Can someone recommend a good site so that I can get my collection up and posted, please? Thanks |
DVD Afficianado is probably the most popular, www.dvdaf.com

DVDAficionado is the best one in my personal opinion.

My vote goes to dvdaficionado too.

Pros and cons to DVDAf and DVDProfiler.
DVDProfiler: 1) Collection will also reside on your computer. Very handy. 2) More features/reports than DVDAf. More detailed DVD info. 3) Takes a little longer to enter info if you want to include purchasing place and price. DVDAf: 1) Simpler interface 2) If collection is large, takes longer to load. 3) Can create custom folders to make viewing collection easier. |
dvdaf....

appreciate the help lads...
I have my list up and running if you fancy a gander... http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.ht...=1&id=dvdmagic |
300, isn't a bad start...you have a lot of titles showing up from other regions, and lesser editions....like young guns, heat, and goodfellas. if you have region 1 titles you may want to use the upc to fix that....all of these are coming up full screen...that can get you flamed pretty quick....not trying to rip on you...(though I have other opinions) just thought you might want to fix the error....at least I hope its an error.
2 fast 2 furious Beautiful Mind christmas story Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle Gate, The LOTR matrix movies Pianist Runaway Jury Rundown Silence of the Lambs Van Helsing XXX |
Yeah, thanks for that. I was getting used to the whole thing. I tried the option where you can list up to 300 movies and then choose whatever applies, but that wasn't clear enough on which version I was picking. So I ended up pretty much searching through region 1 DVD by DVD and doign it that way.
I realise that I have some of the basic versions of some movies, but they were some of the movies I had when I first started the collection and have yet to get replaced and updated. I did manage to take care of some of them, such as upgrading my copies of 'Pulp Fiction', 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Windtalkers' to name just a couple. I'm getting there.... -smile- |
Hiya!
To create a link to your sig, you need to use the url tag in "edit signature". Like so... (url=http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=dvdmagic)insert witty banter of your choice here, ha ha ha(/url) Replace ( ) with [ ] |
guess I'm not doing it right. $%&ing computer!
any help? |
Perhaps it's too late, but I thought I'd put in a word for DVD Spot. One thing I really like about it is I can also track what I watch. I rent a lot, and am also interested in seeing how often I go through my own collection (I've only started tracking that this year).
Anyhow, you can check it out in my sig if you want. |

DVD Af doesn't support putting in UPC's of your DVD's, so sometimes I'm not quite sure that I am putting in the exact DVD, or it doesn't exist in the DVD Af database. Plus, now you can only have 400 (or 500?) DVD's per page. Unlike some people, I don't like to split up my DVD's into different categories, so it's frustrating having to split up my collection into ~300 DVD chunks, and I have to be careful which category I add them too. All that said, I do have my collection on DVD Profiler, DVD Af, DVD Spot, and <gasp> Guzzlefish. :D |
DVDProfiler iz da Bomb.
