Invader Zim Box News?

With the INVADER ZIM box set coming out in a few weeks, I was wondering if there has been any final word on exactly what it will include. Amazon says that it will have the uncut X-Mas episode after all, for example, but I'm not sure if they are the best source to believe.

Also, what is the status of the alleged Media Blasters-exclusive box? Their site doesn't seem very up-to-date, and I'm not sure if I should go ahead and pick up the single-disk box with the Gir figure, or wait and see if they have something different to order directly.

Hoping to bump the thread.
Is this thing actually coming out tomorrow because I can't find one bit of info about what's actually on the disc or what fans think of it.

Considering this thread contains absolutely no new information, not exactly what I was looking for. Has no one picked this up early?

Well, you seem to be on the assumption that it's still up in the air or not for certain coming out tomorrow. the other thread pretty much comfirms it and also comfirms what other questions were coming up about the whole recall and error on disc 3.

The other thread had plenty of bits of info, something your other post claimed you couldn't find.

Yeah, we haven't gotten ours either. Only 5 coming in, and most likely not till next week. Sucks having to wait, but my discount should be fairly nice.

Any value to getting it from Hot Topic?

I'm down on some list that Hot Topic in my neighborhood (Hollywood & Highland, L.A.) will call me if/when they get the IZ box.

The clerks don't appear to know much about exclusive materials, does anyone here know if there's any added value from waiting and getting it from Hot Topic, who, in the past, have been so good on releasing the individual DVDs ahead of street date?

What about Tower Records or Musicland, anything special about getting it there?

BOMM,

CS

Just get it from Amazon.com, free shipping, no tax, for $29.96
Or $23.98 from DDD.com, but a week long wait.

Done.

Well, I got mine today via Amazon. The DVD doesn't play in my Mitsubishi (Toshiba) at all. I had to put it in my diehard Cyberhome that plays everything. The Christmas Episode is only a little different that I can tell. Mr. Slushy (the snowman) calls him "Zam" and there is some new sound effects (during the TV interview, there is heavy metal tunes in the background.

The box is nice. The included toy is complete shit.

Anyone else having trouble playing the disc?

Got the box yesterday disc plays fine in my Sony player. No complaints from me on the set. It was well worth the $25 I spent at Amazon and is my last STL order.

I got my copy yesterday. Disc plays fine, but it's encoded so everything is just a different "menu". Meaning, when you play the X-Mas episode, instead of showing the running time, the LCD on my DVD player just says "PLAY". The Gir figurine is cheap, but that's what I expected. I love it.

I also figured out that buying the three volumes separately and buying the box with just the bonus disc is actually CHEAPER than buying the "fully loaded" boxset (based on prices at HMV in Canada). In fact, MediaBlasters/SMA actually charges retailers more for the "fully loaded" boxset than for all the volumes separately. Very odd.

Just a question for all of you, When I throw in my copy of any volume the Irken subtitles are always automatically turned on. Does anyone else have this problem?

Volume 1 did that for me on my Panasonic player. It didn't on my XBox. It isn't a problem with the disc.

When the episode starts, just turn off the subtitles with the remote.

Also whenever I watch Minority Report on my Panasonic, Spanish subtitles always start up.

all three volumes did that on my Panasonic. What made it very frustrating was that I had to go back into the menu to disable the subtitles (pressing the subtitle button on my remote didn't work). I haven't tried volumes 1 - 3 on my Pioneer, but the bonus disc doesn't do that (probably because there are no irkin subtitles for the uncut x-mas episode on the DVD).

Has anyone found this box ("empty" or "full") at B&M in Southern California? Every shop I'm visiting online says they're on order, and Amoeba says it doesn't even come out until NEXT Tuesday! What gives?
