I'm only on the second disc of commentaries, but David Mirkin has already mentioned a few times that he did not want to release a DVD set unless it was able to keep all the original music intact.

Still no mention of why no CE on the commentaries.

Heh. I don't know, either. My Easter egg vigilance has waned significantly over the years. I only know about this one because there was a contest about finding it on the Get a Life FB page.

I listened to some of the commentaries this past weekend, and the hidden Carrie Fisher commentary (with David Mirkin) is hilarious. It's very often not on topic, with some wild tangents, but it's very entertaining.
