I already have the old DVD from Pioneer, any real reason to upgrade?

lisadoris 03-17-05 06:09 AM

I have the old edition as well but the new commentary track sounds interesting and I'm happy they're keeping the trivia track. We'll see.

nemein 03-17-05 07:28 AM

Kind of tempted but I'm also kind of sick of double dipping ;) Might have to wait a bit on this one...

Xander 03-17-05 09:57 AM

Son of a bitch. Just finally broke down and bought the old disc. Don't think I'll end up double-dipping on this one.

Fok 03-17-05 10:30 AM

The old disk stated that its 5.1, but its not. I'll probably double dip :/

BuddyRevell 03-17-05 11:53 AM

Well this new transfer is anamorphic. I wouldn't have cared for this release, but I recently bought a 16X9 television so I'm an anamorphic freak now. I'll double dip on this one.

darmok 03-17-05 11:56 AM

this was a great blind buy for me. never thought a christmas ornament could be used as a bargaining tool like that.

bboisvert 03-17-05 12:04 PM

It looks like the commentary on the existing disc won't be carried over... unless I'm reading this incorrectly (??)

They call the commentaries on this Anchor Bay edition "all new".

Numanoid 03-17-05 07:28 PM

I wonder why they misspelled Rafer Weigel's name wrong...twice.

Doughboy 03-17-05 09:58 PM

I love Free Enterprise, so I'll probably double-dip. Besides, it's an anamorphic transfer, so that alone makes it enticing.

Cameron 06-02-05 10:34 PM

so i guess this got pushed back...no new date

FREE ENTERPRISE (1998)

Two sci-fi/comic geeks get more than they bargained for when they befriend their idol, William "Capt. Kirk" Shatner and discover he is not quite the man they imagined him to be. From producer Mark Altman (THE SPECIALS) comes this hilarious comedy which will have a new DiviMax hi-def transfer with enough new extras to fill a 2 Disc Set!

Starring: Eric McCormack, William Shatner - Director: Robert Meyer Burnett

CrumpsBrother 06-03-05 04:04 PM

Wonder why it didn't say, "From producer Mark Altman (HOUSE OF THE DEAD)..." :p Actually, I love FREE ENTERPRISE, but couldn't resist!

Muad'Dib 06-03-05 04:46 PM

Never seen this flick. Going to pick this one up for sure.

darmok 06-03-05 05:08 PM

it was a fun blind buy for me, too. i know collectors/fans like the characters in the movie. too funny.

Cameron 06-03-05 11:21 PM

i saw it once and thought it was really funny...wouldn't say i'm a trek fan, but i know some trek fans...and that was enough to make it for me

RocShemp 06-03-05 11:30 PM

I really loved this movie but for some reason I never bought the old release. So I'm definitely in.

Trevor 06-04-05 09:16 AM

A definite double dip for me, my favorite blind buy pickup probably.

Trevor 08-04-05 12:20 PM

Did this get cancelled or delayed?

Cameron 08-04-05 08:13 PM

see post 12 above

Desslok 08-20-05 11:55 AM

someone at HTF says that the anchor bay site lists best buy as getting some sort of exclusive...

jdumbjokes 01-08-06 06:28 PM

Can't wait for this to come out. I remember breaking down and paying $31 for the first release. I think it was worth it. This hits a little too close to home for my friends and I. The movie is hoot if you're into anything like comics, Trek and Sci-Fi.
