Who actually owns videos? Is it the band/performer or the director or the studio/record label? If it isn't the band/performer then perhaps that explains why there aren't more MUSIC VIDEO Collections out there? For example, there is a BERLIN concert DVD, but no video collection disc.

Almost all bands have a fan following, so it seems that it would be profitable for all involved even if different studios owned various videos from the same artist(s). I can't believe there is any real good reason to avoid getting these discs into our hands other than if a group/performer didn't make enough videos for a release (and even if that is true, a release could still be filled up with bonus material like concert footage, photo galleries, bios and interviews, etc.). Even if need be, limited edition low production discs could be made and sold for a higher than normal DVD cost. I think most true fans would pay $30-40 for such a limited release.

I'd like to see Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, John Mellencamp, Slaughter and the Stray Cats re-issue their 80s videos in DVD format. I have the VHS tapes, just would like to upgrade. I wish Duran Duran would re-issue their original Greatest Hits tapes... I have that thing on Betamax (along with Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas, Fleetwood Mac doucmentary, Mellencamp's Ain't that America and Blondie Eat to the Beat I'd also love to see a collection from Pat Benatar... I don't think she ever had one out?

I'd also love to see NIN re-issue Closure on DVD. I realize with Reznor's reputation for being a perfectionist that it would probably not happen without tweaking it, but I'd be quite happy to just have DVD versions as-is instead of the tapes.

I recently replaced tapes from Guns N Roses with DVDs:
  • Use Your Illusion I
  • Use Your Illusion II
  • Welcome to the Videos

And I also have:
  • Tori Amos - Welcome to Sunny Florida
  • NIN - And All That Could Have Been
  • Blondie - Greatest Video Hits
  • David Bowie - Best of
  • Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
  • Metallica - S&M
  • Squeeze - Greatest Hits
  • Smashing Pumpkins - Viewphoria
  • Smashing Pumpkins - Greatest Hits
  • Duran Duran - Sing Blue Silver
