High Tension - I heard it was the best and most original horror movie in years, plus it had some cool posters. Apparently the French have seen the same movies I have and don't mind using the same "huge, mind-blowing twist!" I ended up (unsuccessfully) trying to give it to a friend for free.

or

The Hole
- Keira Knightley in any movie should make the movie worth watching... but we don't live in Shouldland. It was just dumb and devoid of thrills.

I'd have to say my worst has been New York, New York. I like musicals and Martin Scorsese, and I thought that would be a great combination. I was wrong, but I still think he could do a great musical some day.

Broken Flowers.

Love Bill Murray in awkward "growth" roles like Lost in Translation, but this one was more painful to watch than interesting. Granted the performances were pretty good and the film is decent, but the rewatch value on it is next to nil, IMHO. Would have been a fine rental.

Its not that bad. Not great....but definately not terrible. At least the action is original.

Thw worst blind buys i ever had were:

Vampires (Recommended by a friend......i used to love John Carpenter...but this movie is bloody awful).

The Cell (What a turd of a movie).

What Dreams May Come (Soppy rubbish).

the grudge- as much as I love smg, she could not save this pos.
dog soilders- although giving much praise by fans and critic, i just could never get it to. tried a second time, and still could not finish it past the first ten minutes. for whatever reason, just could not get into. but enjoyed the ginger snaps triology better then dog soilders.

Most of my blind buys are good because I research them and get things that I really want to see.

Candyman 3 was an exception. Everything I read told me it would be bad, but I just had no idea it would be as bad as it was, or seem so little like a candyman movie.

American Splendor
I don't agree that Strange Days is dated. There is nothing really in the film (except the squibs they use to experience another persons actions) that is not in the world around us today, and will still probably be around 20-30 years from now. Just because it was set on New Years Eve 1999 doesn't mean that it is dated at all. I think this is a highly underrated sci-fi that did an excellent job overall. It kept things on a realistic level.

Kids in the Hall Season 1
I never saw the first season, but enjoyed the other seasons on TV. I planned to get the whole series on DVD.
The first season was so unfunny I sold it and now I don't even want the other seasons. I'm too much of a completist.

I blind bought CEMETARY MAN after all the praise in the Deep Discount sale thread. I never could get into Italian horror movies and this movie didn't change that. I have had worse blind buys but this was one of the more disappointing that I have had.

I don't blind buy enough to have a "worst blind buy" but I do rent a whole lot--Night Watch was a huge disappointment after enjoying the trailer so much. Took me two nights to finish and I kept glancing at the "time remaining" counter for most of the 2nd half.

I have to agree with Canaryfarmer, Nightwatch was my worst blind buy so far this year.

The Ring Two. I figured since I enjoyed the first one well enough the sequel would be at least watchable (if for no other reason than to obsessively stare at Naomi Watts), but no. This was one of the most unwatchable films I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of crap.

Moulin Rouge (the recent one, not the 1952 film), one of the most overrated films ever.

"28 Days later", a terrible film & a ripoff of a Romero film.

For me it was probably Final Fantasy: Advent Children. Maybe not the worst movie overall, but it was the last in a string of bad blind buys, and the one I remember most. I just remember asking myself why I didn't just rent it, as I would likely never sit through it again. I consider this the movie that drove me to join Netflix, and I'm happy so far.

"Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter"

It was no where as good as that title made it sound.
