Ever...gonna...see..."Backdraft SE"??
I so want this...
I as well. With the recent release of Ladder 49, which is actually a pretty decent flick, I'd love to get an anamorphic release of Backdraft.

I've been waiting six years for this, might as well wait a little longer.
but no announcements, thoughts or glimmers of anything? ronnie h. where are you?
its funny, for awhile its been hard even finding a copy of Backdraft. But Yesterday at the local Walmart, along with Ladder 49, was a whole display on top with copies of Backdraft...all non anamorphic. hmmm. at least its readily available again.
Yeah, this one is way overdue for a re-release. The current non-anamorphic DVD was one of the first I remember seeing hit the shelves way back in '97 (in a CD jewel case no less!).
Too bad this was a Universal release. Even if they do release a SE, they will probably screw it up.

I've waited this long, I guess I can wait longer
It's ashame the HD version will probably be here sooner than the standard DVD re-release. This seems to be the case with other Universal titles, as well. But, this is a studio with no standards and dumb thinking so I guess I don't have the right to complain.

Would be nice to get the original trailer and the deleted scenes (both of which were shown on the TV version).
...DTS would be nice...
Commentary by lead cast members . . .
Making of documentary and/or a making of retrospective . . . Tribute to/documentary on/history of firefighters . . . . . . |
I would love to get an SE as I saw them make part of it.
Remember the scene where Kurt Russell is fixing his roof and Rebecca Demornay is talking to him through the attic window? I'm on the house's front lawn, looking up, watching them film. |

On a somewhat related note, in the movie U.S. Marshals with Wesley Snipes and Tommy Lee Jones, there were a couple scenes shot just south of my little rural home town. Remember the scene where Wesley hijacks a semi at a rest stop with pine trees in the background? That rest stop is about 26 or 27 miles south of my town on a 2-lane road about halfway between my town and Paducah, KY. I didn't see them shoot the scene, but I do remember seeing the semi rig sitting there as the prop when I would drive by. Also in a subsequent scene when they show the semi driving on the road, that takes place on the same road about 4 or so miles north of that rest area, which is ironic because the direction they were supposed to be going in the movie is south, towards Paducah. |
Are there ANY releases of this that have any bonuses?
I know the television version has the original trailer before it as well as deleted scenes. Are there any "making of" specials available for this? |
It would be cool if they included the Backdraft experience that they had at the Universal Studios tour for so many years.
with the recent announcement, i guess my threads on SE's are getting through to the powers that be. god love 'em!
