What Warner Brothers Sci Fi do you want to see on dvd?

With all the great titles coming out of WB in the past year, they have been light on Sci Fi....what do you want to see

Forbidden Planet- On the Way

other wants
2 disc Clash of the Titans
Westworld/Futureworld SE
Time Machine could use a SE as well

D-Ball 03-09-05 01:34 AM

The Thing From Another World could use a special edition. I was excited when it first came out, but now it seems like they dropped the ball. Them! would also be a welcome addition.

I'm looking forward to Forbidden Planet!! As a former reader of Famous Monsters of Filmland, I used to read about all the Universal Monster movies, and the classic sci fi movies of the 1950's. It is good that today we can all now own a copy of our favourite classic movie, and that due to the wonders of modern technology, it will look and sound better now than id did when it was originally released!

Um... Blade Runner Special edition with theatrical cut, director's cut and real director's cut, plus tons of extras, maybe?

It's possible they just don't have a lot of material for the film. The a/v quality is excellent, though (especially since RKO's films are usually in bad shape before remastering).

Also, Futureworld is not owned by Warner Bros. American International made it, so it's with MGM.

...and since MGM is (mostly?, all?) owned by WB... For Me And My Gal, The Great Ziegfeld, Ziegfeld Girl, The Harvey Girls, etc.... all 1930s and 1940s MGM movies, all released on WB DVD...

. . . :o . . .

Apone26 03-09-05 11:07 AM

Is there a list somewhere to choose from =P

MOSTLY

MGM films made after 1984 remained with MGM. United Artist pictures remained with MGM. As did the American International pictures (like Futureworld).

Jaymole 03-09-05 01:33 PM

The Terminal Man
The Illustrated Man
The Green Slime

and a re-issue of Outland which has one of the worst DVD transfers ever.

WORD! The current release just flat out sucks. :grunt:

philo 03-09-05 02:06 PM

I'd like DEMON SEED which they said a year ago was on their schedule but I haven't heard anything since. Also LOOKER, a film they said they had no plans for but I hope they've changed their mind. With actors like Albert Finney, James Coburn, and directed by Michael Crichton, I'm surprised this one isn't out yet.

Cameron 03-10-05 01:05 AM

Green Slime would be nice

darkhawk 03-10-05 07:26 AM

I would like Warner to make a special edition of

THEM!

Jaymole 03-10-05 07:43 AM

I'd also love to see Demon Seed on DVD. Maybe for halloween...

Steve Phillips 03-10-05 09:55 AM

THE GREEN SLIME in widescreen for sure!

Randy810 03-10-05 03:13 PM

THEM
THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD
FORBIDDEN PLANET
BLADE RUNNER WITH EVERYTHING AND ALL VERSIONS (any news on this being released?)

I forgot about THE GREEN SLIME

I W A N T alll of them!!

Needless to say all in WIDESCREEN.

sorry for sounding so macho today, my teenagers are driving me nuts.

milo bloom 03-10-05 04:51 PM

A special edition of 2010 would be great, I'd settle for 16x9.

I just hope they put half the work into these as they have with some of the classics they have been putting out.

Amen to THAT...I watched this a few months ago after getting my bigscreen and the thing looks horrible, unwatchable. I love this movie-saw it in the theater upon it's release- but in it's present state it's not worth owning. One of the banes of this coming out on DVD very early in the game, I guess.

Cameron 07-13-05 03:11 PM

so what do you think that the TCM feature Watch the Skies will show up on.

I want a two disc westworld so bad at this point

mifuneral 07-13-05 03:46 PM

2 disc Clash of the Titans would rule. :)

Cameron 07-14-05 03:30 PM

agreed...i just wonder when we will see a box

gorgo99 07-14-05 04:14 PM

"The Time Machine" already is an SE, and it's pretty nice, too. The doc about where the machine has been over the years is fascinating... the current owner FOUND IT IN A THRIFT STORE!!!
