Couldn't the relative order it online, then reship it to you?
By the by, I just checked a "dvd price search" website and Amazon, Deep Discount DVD, and Barnes & Noble (bn.com) all have this set for around $48 (US). Perhaps you can successfully "import" it from one of the later two?

Amazon UPDATE: They replied to my email regarding the listing of the set:
Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.ca.
I have looked into our web site and found that "Classic Comedies
Collection (Bringing Up Baby Two-Disc Special Edition / The
Philadelphia Story Two-Disc Special Edition / Dinner at Eight /
Libeled Lady / Stage Door / To Be or Not to Be) (1938)" is listed on
our web site as "Usually ships within 3 to 5 weeks." We contact the
publisher directly to obtain this title.
This estimate means that we must order this item from the publisher,
and you can expect the item to be shipped from the fulfillment centre
within 3 to 5 weeks after we receive your order.
Please note that we strive to keep the availability listings on our
web site accurate for single-copy orders. In other words, this
availability estimate means that at least one copy of this item is
available with us for you to order.

What's going on with WB and the issues that keep appearing in regards to the boxsets in Canada?
WB is doing a great job releasing some great boxsets and we can't even get them here in Canada and they are R1 releases. And if we get the boxset, some of the movies are being substituted with inferior releases.

Pressplay and other Canucks...
So, you anybody got their order yet? I just placed mine and I am in the 3-5 week cue (thanks to a family member lending me their credit card ). What was your wait time?
Also, are Baby and Philidelphia Story 2-disc sets? Wouldn't want an Easter Parade to happen with them.

When you order from Amazon.com, being in Canada, what is the usual price difference. If the set, for example, is $60 CDN with free shipping what can we expect from the US site?

So can anyone tell me if I can still buy this boxset or should I just buy the individual releases.
The price difference alone was the reason why I wanted the boxset but the search for it has been really irritating.

Thanks J.V.P...now if only I COULD purchase it from Amazon.
I see a dark cloud looming over the month of May if the Warner set releases are having issues with release in Canada.

I ordered online at www.bn.com on 03/18/05. The set cost me $48.28 US plus $3.95 US for shipping and handling. They finally delivered the set to me today 03/29/05. With the current rate, it probably will end up costing me $60 to $65 Canadian.
I'm extremely happy that I finally was able to obtain this set.
