Audio commentary eh? I might have to make it a Blockbuster night then. I hope it's as good as the commentary on The Postman ;)

HAHAHAHA, somebody posted on dvdanswers that fangoria magazine actually gave the movie a 1 out of 5, yet, whoever did the cover art still used a quote from the article.

Geofferson 03-03-05 08:56 AM

Definitely going to rent this (if only to see how bad it truly is).

buckee1 03-03-05 08:59 AM

Just watched the trailer on the film's website and It looks an awful lot like a re-do of "The Relic". That and the note that the director's previous work was "House of the dead" smells like stinker to me. Mind you, I did find the Relic fairly enjoyable but, not enjoyable enough to watch it with Tara Reid & Christian Slater.

Is that your barometer for badness? See more movies.

I'm upset. I would actually buy this rubish if they included a free copy of the first PC game. My 3D0 version got stolen a few years ago.

BuddyRevell 03-03-05 11:47 AM

I'll rent it and watch it and then pee on it.

DeanoBKN 03-03-05 11:51 AM

They should show this movie to people on death row...it'll make them look forward to it!

Nice cover art though...I thought for sure it would be a victim of the floating head syndrome.

I've never watched Gigli, but AITD is my first ZERO film of the year. It's awful. Check sig.;)

One of the greatest games ever made. In 1992, when Alone in the Dark was released, it was revolutionary in many ways. One of which was its "cinematic" approach of viewing the protagonist through dynamic camera angles. Too bad the first great "movie-type" game inspired such a steaming turd of a movie 12+ years later.

I honestly agree, but have to add that a movie could have been a lot better in the hands of people who cared. I played the first game for an entire summer and never got sick of it. Great game which inspired the horror game genre!

According to the reviewers, it's significantly worse than Gigli. It appears to have set new records in terribleness. I can't wait to *flix it.

"Saying Uwe Boll’s Alone in the Dark is better than his 2003 American debut House of the Dead is akin to praising syphilis for not being HIV."

Oh, snap!

Joe Molotov 03-03-05 05:22 PM

After reading the Uwe Boll interviews that were posted on the internet in the months leading up to the release of AitD, I can only imagine what the commentary is going to be like.

theneobez 03-03-05 05:49 PM

haha i really wanna buy this actually, i think it'll be a hilarious film to watch with buddies.
