Artwork released for '94/'95 animated Fantastic Four.

Courtesy DVDAnswers:

Awesome, isn't it? Now if Fox or whoever would release Spidey, X-Men, and any other Marvel series like this.

Did this series have any Dr. Doom episodes or arcs?

Oh God stop that first season theme song from playing in my head!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, good news! I watched these when they came on tv as a part of the Marvel Action Hour. They were pretty good but then I have never been a big fan of the FF.

Seeing this gives me hope that they will release an Iron Man set. His cartoon came on during the aforementioned Marvel Action Hour.

Take care all!!

'Fantastic Four' wasn't a Fox show, so maybe that's why it's actually getting good treatment. (Maybe not; I really don't know the ins and outs of who has the rights.) But those weekend morning cartoons may all be syndication anyway...

Finding out that 'F4' is from 10 years ago, and realizing that, at the time, I was just old enough to not get into it (it was a *Sunday* morning cartoon, right?) makes me feel a little old. So thanks a *lot* Mike!

Wow, that's a great box I watched the show a bit when it was on... i always enjoyed Stan Lee popping up with his comments. Hey true believers!

That certainly is a nice looking box. However, I'm on the fence about getting this one. The Marvel fan in me is tempted to get it, but I recall that the series just wasn't all that great quality-wise. Not on par with the X-Men or Spidey series of the 90's -- a marked step (or two) below, in fact.

What are you talking about? I was a Junior/Senior in college at the time. Sunday morning cartoons was the least of my concerns.

My only interest in the show now is because of all the live-action comic book movies that have come out in the last few years. Same thing goes with the Batman and Supes animated series.

The first season was terrible (like Galactus licking his lips when the Watcher describes his planet eating), but it got better in season two. The best thing (no pun intended!) about the second season was the Thing vs. Hulk fight!

Don't understand the way you took it, but I was joking by saying "Thanks for making me feel old." Sorry for whatever insult you seem to have taken from that.

Oh, no...I took no offense. I meant it in a sense of, "Tell me about it..."

Oh, I gotcha, I guess *I* mis-read *you* then.

I remember seeing a few episodes of it, but I think it was not only Sunday mornings, but *early* Sunday, and that was just no good on any level. Maybe now I'll catch up with it ...

Thanks for that pic! That box design looks really clean! I like it! I just hope we get a Spider-Man and X-Men set already! Between that and Batman and Superman I'll have my Cartoon superhero collect nearly complete!

This is slightly old news, but I just found it...
Looks like Marvel has greenlit a brand new 2D/3D animated Fantastic Four show that will be distributed worldwide in late 2006. Looks like it'll be another 26 episodes like this '94/'95 series.

FANTASTIC 4 1990's cartoon dvd set

How good was this series of the 1990's FANTASTIC 4?
Is it worth buying?
Is it like the BATMAN cartoons from the 1990's?

I will let you know as soon as it comes in from coconuts. I am pretty sure it is nowhere near the quality of BTAS but it is good nostalgia.

I think the show (and most of Marvel's animated series from that time) was a pale comparison of Batman: The Animated Series.

Tho, I never missed an episode of FF....must be the geek in me.

Mine's in the mail. I'll let you know about the quality of the show sometime next week.

From what I hear though is that the first half of the set (the first season) the animation was a bit corny and cheesey. During the second half (second season) the production team revamped the show and the animation is supposed to be a bit better.

I've only bought this set to get me in the mood for the rebirth of the F4 franchise.

I don't know of one animated series produced by Marvel that even comes close to rivaling DC's best animated series. It's odd too, as Marvel seems to really own the movie theaters for the best superhero releases, over all, but DC's movies tend to suck bad, with a few exceptions, but it seems to be the reversal for the animated series.

The early 1970's were pretty good since they used the comic book stories.
I liked those.

They were Ok, but the cut and paste animation left a lot to be desired.
