A Very Long Engagement - May 24th!!!

I can't wait. I love this movie.

And now, it'll be the 1st Warner Independent 2-disc.

http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?...6000&n=1&burl=

They should at least mention the Oscar nods on the cover.

Hopefully, it'll have an isolated Badalamenti track.

I completely love this movie. I'm definitely psyched for it to come out.

I watched The City of Lost Children a few weeks ago, though...and didn't like it. It was missing something that Amélie and A Very Long Engagement had, and I don't know what. Not to change the subjet or anything, but does anyone have the same thoughts?

anyone also hate the cover art, and makes it seem that this is a sex movie with a bunch of soldiers in it.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I definitely will be buying the DVD. I have heard a lot of good things about it, and I'm a fan of both Jeunet and Tautou's work.

I don't really like the cover art, I would've preferred the the other theatrical artwork poster.

I have the French 2 disc on pre-order (mostly because of the extras...) but I am EXTREMELY glad to see Warner giving this film the 2DVD-treatment. Let's wait and see what the extras are...(but the French DTS is also something that I would keep in mind). For now...I keep my pre-order for the French disc.

Great news regardless!!

Ciao,

ps
TomOpus....who do I contact about the whacking part, you? I'd like to contribute too.

NeatMCsammer -

I totally agree ... I loved Amelie, loved Delicatessan and while City of Lost Children was visually pretty cool, the story and heart was lacking. I have heard good things about A Very Long Engagement but just haven't gotten around to seeing it yet. I'm hoping to catch it in the theater this weekend though so I will give a review when I see it ...

I am looking forward to it.

I have the French 2 disc on pre-order (mostly because of the extras...)
Since the R1 version is also a 2-disc set, I would think the extras would be pretty much the same, as was the case with the Franch and American versions of Amelie. DTS is no big deal to me. What are the extras on the French edition, so we know what to expect?

I like the cover. It implies the movie has 2 central ingredients required for every good film: sex & violence.

This my least favorite Jeanut movie. That's saying a lot since he also made Alien Resurrection! I'll be passing on this one.

This movie was weird...but pretty good. I may consider picking it up because it's a two disc. Loved the cinematography on it too!

I hear this is pretty good, and I've been waiting so long for a good WWI flick. Hopefully this will satisfy that desire. Plus, it's an added bonus that it's in French (will help me hone my French skills)

Basically Disc One will have a commentary by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, plus French trailers. Jeunet may also record an English-language commentary, as he did with Amelie's R1 release. Disc Two will have more trailers (International, which should include US trailer(s) as well), deleted scenes with commentary, some poster art, and two documentaries.
