Hey biker dude, American Chopper comes to DVD

From DVDAnswers:

Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment has announced seasons one and two of American Chopper which is a documentary series about the goings-on behind the scenes at Orange County Choppers, a custom motorcycle fabrication company located in Rock Tavern. Each season will arrive on three-disc from the 3rd May this year. The retail price for each will be set at around $29.96. I'm afraid we have no further details on this one at the moment, but we've attached the official region one artwork below:

Cool ass art work, isn't it?

I saw these guys on the Celebrity Poker Series and they were hilarious.

You apparently thought wrong. ;)

Oh wait, never mind. Checking TVShowsOnDVD, you're right. Must've missed that bit of news from...a year ago.

I remember them advertising it for sale through the Discovery Channel store -- for somewhere around $80. Perhaps it was just an online exclusive and this will now bring it into stores.

You could buy episodes "by the bike" (two episodes per build) and yeah, they were insanely expensive.

SilverAP1 02-22-05 03:55 AM

they are finally gonna be Reasonable....not 30.00 PER dvd. =)

I just started watching this on Discovery HD and have been hooked like a big dog! I love this show and am definately going to start collecting the series.

It really is a great series . . . appealing on a lot of different levels (artistic, gear-head, "voyeuristic", etc.). I used to watch it religiously, but have fallen away from it recently (I think the holiday break knocked me out of my pattern :( ).

Appropos of a few ongoing threads around here, I just don't know if I could be satisfied watching this show in only "DVD quality" as I'm used to seeing it in very high quality high-def (that HD Discovery Theater is about the best HD channel going).

Fantastic show, and on many levels, as mentioned. Certainly not just for gearheads.

bpatt 02-22-05 10:07 PM

Exactly - I'm the opposite of what you would consider a gearhead.

And I find this show hilarious and entertaining. DSHD drew me to it - now I look forward to it.

I agree with the HD being a high bar here, but I would consider the sets depending on the quality.

I love the show too but i wouldnt buy it unless it was uncensored. That would be the only selling point for me. They repeat each episode at least 2 times a month it seems so I wouldnt see the need for it on DVD except you dont get commericials. uncensored is the way to go... ;)

hey i have season one and i believe it is uncensered but i cant garentee it because its been awhile seince i watched the dvds and i bought me season set for 56 dollers canadian last year out of a store and watched it alot and like the show very much it wouldn't be show with anybody else because it make it better seeing father and son fighting all the time
