Ghost in the Machine SE - DTS problem?

The Dolby soundtracks are wonderful in this edition. However, when I try either of the DTS tracks I get extremely little bass...it seems that there is little or no .1 (subwoofer channel).
I have a top of the line Yamaha receiver and haven't observed this problem with any other DVDs.
Has anyone else observed this problem or is it just my copy?

interesting... I played with DTS, and I agree there's not much "action"... I just assumed it's because it was aged anime release. I'll have to go try the DD track now.

It might help your thread get noticed if you got the movie's title correct.

It's "Ghost in the Shell", not "Ghost in the Machine".

I thought he was talking about the Police album.

Correction - Ghost in the Shell SE DTS problem

You're quite correct. I screwed up the DVD's title. However, I still think there's a big DTS problem.

You are talking about the GitS movie SE from Manga, not the GitS:SAC SE series from Bandai/Manga, right?

Seantn 02-18-05 03:37 PM

I was wondering how Ghost in the Machine would get a SE with DTS!

DTS Subwoofer problem

Yes. I'm talking about the version just recently put out by Manga with the nice plastic slipcase.

(As an aside, I do have a DTS version of Police's Ghost in the Machine)

Master Shake 05 02-25-05 06:07 PM

Well, the Dolby Digital is nice...just try that!

Rockmjd23 02-25-05 06:32 PM

not to threadcrap, but does anyone else notice something strange in the main menu about a certain person posting in this thread at 7:27 PM?

*Looks around* Uh.....no.....
