Battlestar Galactica: The Mini-Series Featurette

Did anyone else notice how miserable Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict looked in the DVD's featurette?

Especially Dirk Benedict who couldn't look Katee Sackhoff (his Starbuck counterpart) in the eye during his interview at Starbuck's coffee shop. He didn't even crack a smile when he added that he tried to audition for Starbuck again.

Too bad they couldn't get Herb Jefferson Jr's input (the original Boomer) on the new show.

I heard the featurette was spoiler-ific in regards to the episodes yet to air... so I haven't looked. Is it safe?!

Edit: they're all smiles in this pic: http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/imag...arbucks_sm.jpg

I would say it's safe.

Not sure here but I've read some of a critical manifesto that Benedict put out slamming the new show for being so dark and also for making the characters of Starbuck and Boomer female. I'm not sure how the makers of the featurette coaxed him to meet up with Sackhoff. He was actually pretty nice to her during the interview and it might be that he felt a little shame-faced at slamming a casting decision that gave her a job.

I loved the old show for different reasons than those for which I love the new version. It's only my opinion but the old crew just needs to get the Hell over it. It's done. Move on.

Same here. Although I can understand their concerns about the casting and direction the new show is taking, they simply need to get over their old show.

I hope though that Richard Hatch gets more screen time in future episodes. Actually he doesn't look bad. Dirk Bennedict, however, looks like he hasn't aged well.

I suspect his (and Richard Hatch's) objections were *mostly* professional with respect to the new series and not personal. I'm sure that they don't have any personal problems with any of the actors of the new series so why not do the featurette? Besides, they ARE getting paid for it.
