Wow - I just looked it up on IMDB.com, ~$63 million to make and grossed $37 million in the US - I never realized it bombed so badly at the box office.

Rushmore- Criterion Collection. Found two copies at Hollywood video for $15 each about 4 years ago. Knowing their value I bought them both to trade, watched one copy and now it's one of my favorite films. Traded the other one for The Rock- Criterion Collection.

Also Night of the Hunter and The Intruder(William Shatner's best work. Really.)

Oh, I can't pick just one... most of my blind buys, since I've gone on recommendations of fine people here, have been Godsends.

Back To The Future box set.
It was between Suddenly 30 and BTTF - my Mum convinced me I'd like the BTTF movies and all I can say is I'm glad she did!

Firefly! Had never heard of it until I saw the Serenity movie trailer and thought it looked cool. A friend of mine that I was watching it with told me it was based on Firefly and on his suggestion, I blind-bought the show. Now I'm freaking obsessed!

Movie:

Pulp Fiction -- No idea how I didn't see this until it hit dvd, but I didn't.
Toy Box Set -- Again, go figure, I had never seen either movie until I bought this set.

Series:

Firefly -- Thanks to the many who suggested it during DDD's 20% off sale. Coincidentally, my next blind buy (in about 24 hours) will be Serenity.
Band of Brothers -- Loved every minute of it. I started watching the first disc the morning I received it and I ended up finishing the series that night.

Just about everything I buy is a blind buy. I've had some good luck with box sets. I've listed a few and the movie that I favor the most in them.

Val Lewton Box (Curse of the Cat People)
Herzog/Kinski box (Nosferatu)
Bergman CC box (Winter Light)
Dreyer CC box. (Gertrude!)
Apu Trilogy (Pather Panchali)

For non-box sets

Passion of Joan of Arc
The Face of Another
Wisconsin Death Trip
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Il Mare

etc, etc, etc.

The Legend of 1900
Heavenly Creatures
The Third Man
Brazil

And recently, D.E.B.S. was over my expectation because it did make me laugh.

I have no idea how anyone could honestly say one.

I've been blown away by a good portion of my blind buys - probably 50% of my collection.

Just a few come to mind (that I enjoy equally for different reasons) ...

Innocence
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Series
3-Iron
Battle of Algiers
Avalon
Hanzo the Razor
Le Dernier Combat
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Rainy Dog
Band of Brothers
Six String Samurai
Twilight Samurai
Female Prisoner 701
Amelie
The Yakuza Papers
Delicatessen
Audition

Too many to name I have had so many Foreign films and Anime that were huge payoffs. The Samurai Trilogy might be my favorite blind buy though.
