Awww, let 'em poop.

So, what you're saying is: there's a deep psychological and emotional subtext to DYNAMITE? A subtext you feel is missing from AFHV.

To this I say,

I must've missed that mind-bending, heart-tugging undercurrent during the moments where Napoleon drank the egg juice, or the tater tots sequence, or the dance routine, or when he was playing tetherball by himself (a lot of symbolism in that shot), or when he was drawing ligers, or when he was wearing moon boots for no good reason besides easy retro comedy, or when... I could go on and on.

This is wayyyyy off-topic, and I apologize to the rest of you.

But seriously, Al, open those eyes. DYNAMITE has no emotional core. You sit and laugh (I've heard) at a dork for 80 minutes, then quote his lines endlessly for the next week. Much like HFHV, it's disposable comedy, but unlike AFHV, DYNAMITE is a calculated, detached experience I liken to a wiffleball bat swing to the nuts, as previously stated. As you said, the film is "juvenille and repetitive."

But this isn't the thread for this.

I hope there never IS a thread debating the relative merits of AFHV... but I think it's funny and just might buy a volume or two on dvd
