It would be swell if DVDTalk had a section that listed upcoming releaes for this sort of thing ;)

it would also be nice if we had a search function or 2 threads discussing this movie on dvd on the first page, not including one about the cover diffrences....oh well, heres to dreaming -wink-

I never even realized that this movie is NC-17!!!
It must be pretty gory then. Is this DVD the NC-17 version? Was the barebones disc?

I'm pretty sure it's rated R. Not sure what's up with the new version.

Edit: The barebones and theatrical release were definately R rated. I'm not sure what though is added, as the runtime is the same as the R rated barebones disc.

I should note though, they list the barebones release as NC-17 also, and that surely isn't what the box of my copy says.

Edit again: I think they just have the rating listed incorrectly. Nobody else has it at NC-17.

According to the IMDb, the film's original rating is NC-17, cut for R. It would've been nice for this new DVD to be uncut...

The DVD is NOT uncut. It's the same ole R. I really don't know what they would have cut for R, since the movie is violent and gory has hell. Pretty sweet SE all the same.

At the Costco's here in the Portland, OR area, Predator 2 special edition came out last week. It's double packaged with the first Predator special addition for $17.99 with a $5.00 off coupon for AvP. Too bad I already had the first one.

not sure if anyone feels the same, but I love the artwork for this new Predator 2 SE.

It is much improved over the previous R1 release.

How is the movie?

I'm really impressed with how good this DVD looks. They certainly spent some cash to fix it up a bit. I haven't even checked out the extras and I'm already loving this DVD.

I always liked this film far more than the first one so I'm glad to own it on DVD finally.

It's ok. Plenty of Predator action. Gary Buessy (sp?) is great in it as the villian. Danny Glover might bring on a "what the fuck? why is Danny Glover in this" from you but he's not too bad in it either. The subway scene, the freezer scene and the apartment scene are all fantastic. Plus at the end there is a little bit of AVP prehistory.

I haven't actually seen it in a while, but I remember liking it when I first saw it and taped it off HBO. Probably watched it 15-20 times after that. But that was the opinion of the 12yo version of me, so take that with a grain of salt.

That aside, anyone having trouble finding this today? I went to Best Buy and Suncoast and neither of them had any copies.

It's an underrated flick. Lot's a good ole fashioned man-in-suit sweetness, lots a gore and violence, skinnings, impalements, and some full frontal nudity. All in all, a good ole time! :)

I wasn't able to find this today. I did pick up the BB AVP giftset, but Predator 2 was no where to be found. Did anybody else have this problem in Canada, they arn't frenchifiying the package are they?!

There were like maybe 15 at Walmart. Not very many and most were gone by end of day. Expect sellout in another day.

I got to my Wal-Mart around 1 am and they had a whopping 3 on the shelf. I think some stores are underestimating how this one will sell. At $13.87 a piece I think Wal-Mart was probably sold out before dawn because my local store has a good number of people who are often there at midnight with me or that shop during the early hours of the morning.
