MGM Classic Cartoons on DVD?

Since WB owns these and they are slowly but surely releasing The Looney tunes, will they ever give these the proper treatment.I am tempted to get the R2(France) Tex Avery box set.Droopy Dog is needed on DVD.

A mistake that Warner has pledged to correct.

I read somewhere that a fully restored Tex Avery set is in the works. I'd hold off on the French set, as I've heard it's not restored.

A Tex Avery set would be great. I was going to pickup some of the Tex Avery dvd I saw @ pokerindustries a few weeks ago. Maybe I'll hold off.

the dollar stores have some disc with tex avery cartoons....don't look great, but a buck should hold you over until a good remaster shows up

I'll check my local dollar stores. I really want to see The Magical Maestro. I think that's the title.

Is there any news or reason why Woody Woodpecker, Andy Panda and Chilly Willy are still not out on DVD?!?

I know Universal or Walter Lantz' estate owns the rights to them. There's no reason why they SHOULDN'T be out other than the level of consumer demand.

I ended up making 5 DVDs from my Compleat Tex Avery laserdisc set about a month ago. That'll tide me over until the real DVDs come out. Magical Maestro is one of my favorites, along with The Peachy Cobbler and Symphony in Slang.

Columbia House did have about 14 volumes of Woody Woodpecker-don't know if they still have them.Check DVDtoons.com for reviews.

I'm thinking of doing the same with my Tom and Jerry discs when I finally get a new computer.
