Scrubs Details/Artwork

Hey Everyone

Here's some news a lot of people have been looking forward to! The first season has been announced for the 17th May. It'll be a four-disc set and should retail at around $49.99. All twenty-four episodes of the first season will be included, as well as bonus features such as never-before-seen dream sequences and a fascinating retrospective documentary. Full details have yet to be revealed. If you wanna view the artwork, you can check it out here

FinkPish 01-21-05 06:36 PM

Not real hot on the artwork, but I know the show is great, so it doesn't bother me.

BobSolo 01-21-05 06:36 PM

Can't wait for this one. Must be fate April 5th is my birthday!

That is some truly awful "art"-work.

invisiblegt 01-21-05 07:08 PM

I forgot just how different blonde doctor (Elliot) looked in the first season...

Jackskeleton 01-21-05 07:25 PM

still hot if you ask me.

Quack 01-21-05 08:29 PM

Looks awesome, I will be picking this up first day indeed, great show.

joshualane 01-21-05 09:06 PM

April 5th??? Everything I have says May 17th... April 5th is the "prebook date" (which is for retailers only).

Third Baseman 01-21-05 09:39 PM

Looks like Zach is wearing some lipstick.

tanman 01-22-05 12:12 AM

Isn't $50 a little much? I was hoping for around $30 like NBC's other sitcoms. Or will the street price be more along the lines of what I want.

A $50 SRP for a 20-something episode series is just about the most common price you will find for TV season sets. Most online stores will be selling it for around 25-30% of... aka, ~$35.

Jackskeleton 01-22-05 12:48 AM

yup yup. MSRP is hardly ever the price you buy it for.

Kal-El 01-22-05 01:18 AM

Screw the box. Scrubs is on DVD! :D

Duder 01-22-05 01:30 AM

It looks like JD is freebasing with ectoplasm. Seriously, what the hell?

Tom Woodward 01-22-05 04:48 AM

My mistake. Street is indeed 17th May. That's what happens when you add things in a rush just before going to bed ;)

Just because other NBC titles are cheap doesn't mean that Buena Vista needs to meet those standards.

More than likely b/c they haven't made anything off syndication yet. So it wouldn't make sense to release it for around $25 like Friends, having a higher SRP will limit sales to an extent and still have the market for syndication re-runs. The best of both worlds.

OldBoy 01-22-05 09:35 AM

Warning...Episode Spoilers!

which season and what was it called, had the great ep. where Brendan Frasier's Ben character died and John C.'s Perry had to come to terms with Zach's JD help? that was so piognant and great!

mikewendt 01-22-05 10:34 AM

That artwork is shit...

0rac 01-22-05 11:06 AM

We got word from BVH that more extar will be added, or planned to be

Well, there are two right there!

Tom Woodward 01-22-05 02:51 PM

0Rac - I see you've added the Scrubs artwork on your site too. Bit of advice - spend a little more time in Photoshop, as you can still make our watermarks out reasonably well ;) Also, change the image dimensions when you nick something as that's a bit of a giveaway too. Gawd...

QuikSilver 01-22-05 02:54 PM

Wow that has got to be the worst dvd cover EVER. Someone needs to be fired. I really hope they change it. But good news that the dvd is coming.

0rac 01-22-05 03:45 PM

What you mean? I was emailed the image, if it was take from some other pace other than the BVMH Sales Set, let me know and I will give credit. But I do not have a member account on it and the emailed said he did. I dont have time to check every little image I am sent to see if its most of every website there is. So if you know its not what I was told let me know. Then I know not to trust the emailer that sent it.

PS>Photoshop? LOL I'm a Paint Shop Pro user

critterdvd 01-22-05 03:54 PM

I actually like the cover art

0rac 01-22-05 03:58 PM

I've seen better, at the end i dont care about the cover that much. All I see is the side of it and I care more about what is all on the DVDs

The Antipodean 01-22-05 05:55 PM

Can't wait to get this! Hope for good extras. I've actually never seen most of the 1st season because I only got into Scrubs in season 2.

I think that is about every other episode in seasons 1-3 ... sometimes I think it was part of SC's contract ;)

JGViperGTS 01-24-05 10:20 AM

Personally, I don't care so much for the box either....but I've been waiting for Season 1 of this show on DVD for so long, I don't give a rat's ass what the box looks like!

For future reference, when you do spoilers, you're not supposed to just put "spoiler" in the title, you're supposed to type spoiler in square brackets and, at the end, /spoiler in square brackets. [these brackets]

scroll over this part:
Spoiler:
it works like this

Giles 01-24-05 12:32 PM

could the high MSRP be an indication of the music rights - as the DVD edition of "Northern Exposure" was a victim of such.
