House on Haunted Hill Question
I'm sure this has been discussed at some time, but I searched and didn't find anything. There are currently eight (yes 8) different versions of the 1958 Vincent Price classic, House on Haunted Hill. I tyhink I already know the answer, but I'll throw this out there, for those of you who may own it......Which is best?
I currently own these two, and they are terrible: Roan: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/63...1.LZZZZZZZ.gif VCI: VCI However, there are all these: Front Row: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/07...1.LZZZZZZZ.gif Goodtimes: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Madacy Ring for Doom Collection and last but not least, the Warner one: Warner So anyway, how about some opinions? |
Warner is OAR and animorphic, and it's the only big studio release. I'd presume that's the one.
Yep, the Warner disc is the best. It contains both unmatted and matted widescreen (anamorphic) versions too. Sorry, no Emergo skeleton is included.
I'll second the Warner disc as the only one you need.
Warner's DVD is the only authorized release, only 16x9 release, and the only one with a video transfer from better elements (I'd assume Warner has access to the best Allied Artists materials).
Warner's the best.
Warner disc, is what I got, and what was recommended to me sometime ago when I asked the question (might have been over a year or so ago though)
I too, would stick with the Warner disc.
Thanks everyone.
there are far more than 8 releases...It is all over the place...another vote for the warner disc
