The best miniseries on the Holocaust to my knowledge would be Shoah.

If by "miniseries," one means made for TV, Shoah does not qualify.

Auschwitz: Inside the Natzi State

I caught this last night on my PBS affiliate. I believe it's 6 hours in total. Seems like they're going to run 2 parts back to back with each broadcast. It combines actual footage with non-violent scenes of dramatization. Last night they interviewed a survivor and an SS who claimed to have no feeling when shooting Jews at point blank. This is definitely a series to record and watch.
