Friday Night Lights Bonus Disc at WM

Just went to wal-mart and they had Friday Night Lights w/ an exclusive bonus disc that has 40 min. ex feat. for 19.89. its packaged in another amaray too and they are shrinkwrapped like the "two hit movies, one low price" packages. which by they way they had The Forgotten and Mothman Prophecies for $24

Can anybody else confirm this? I would hate to find out it was only at some Wal-Marts before I go out of my way. I'm also wondering if they are charging more for the double pack like they did with Shrek 2 and the bonus CD.

Just got back from my WM and they had this "double pack" as well.

FNL by itself was $14.86
FNL w/Bonus was $19.96

So in essence you are paying for the so called bonus disc. It looks decent as it says 40 mins long with more Behind the scenes stuff. I have not had a chance to view it. I am hoping to go back with an ad to get it PMed as the receipt does not say anything about it being a special bonus pack.

I picked this up at Best Buy today for 15.99 and it came packaged with the novel as well, this is a better pick up in my opinion.

Paperback. Looks pretty damn good, price on the cover is 7.99, mass media paperback, pretty good deal.

yeah, it's an actual copy of the book Friday Night Lights.

I remember that Walmart and Best Buy also had the Seabiscuit book packaged with it upon its release.

Was the special edition of Mothman Prophecies or the old one?

I picked it up at BB with the book. It's a smaller paperback version of the one I saw at Borders. It does not have the great photos that the larger one does, but it's free.

Plus I have the hardback edition with the photos.

I'm curious what's on the bonus discs though.

I've already watched the extras on the original disc.

Anybody pick this up at Wal-Mart and have details of the disc? How much more did the two pack cost at your Wal-Mart?

I haven't checked the disc's contents yet, but a funny thing happened when I bought it. There was a display stand near the entrance to the store that I grabbed my copy from. The signs all said that the ordinary disc, widescreen or fullscreen, was $15.74. The only sign I saw indicating a price for the pack with the bonus DVD was "Friday Night Lights FF with Bonus Disc: $19.94" or something close to that, with FF obviously standing for Full-Frame. I dug through the pile to find a widescreen copy with the bonus disc (not an easy task, I might add) and resigned myself to having to pay a little more for the extra disc. When I got to the checkout line, it rang up for $15.74, the price of the widescreen version without the bonus disc. I was pretty happy, needless to say.

So YMMV, but in the Walmart I hit (which was Mays Landing, NJ), the widescreen version with bonus disc rang up for exactly the same as without the bonus disc. Hopefully others will get lucky in this way too.

At my local Wal-Mart the price was 14.99 for the package with the bonus DVD and also 14.99 for the regular release only. I've posted some pics of the bonus DVD so anyone can see the contents of it here: http://www.pbase.com/tazerfloyd/

Just click on "dvd stuff" and the Friday Night Lights pics are at the bottom. On a side note, I grew up in West Texas and actually played football in Ratliff Stadium twice.

Thanks for the info. On a side note, I watched games in Ratliff Stadium about 20 times.

Well, if you were ever "lucky" enough to find yourself at Ratliff on a Saturday night and Denver City was playing Ft. Stockton....then you probably saw me running around down there.

The bonus disc looks nice..plus it comes in it's own keepcase.

Ah well, I picked it up for $19.99 - $5 Coupon + Tax - $7 MIR at FYE tonight so I'm happy neways.

I remember going to Ft. Stockton but never heard of Denver City.

Only saw Mojo games at the stadium.

Picked up the WS 2-pack today (definitely more FS than WS...) it did ring up at $20 though...but I just skipped my Starbucks run, so it averages out.

Went ahead and put both discs in a double-amaray, looks good!

Well off to WM I got this evening....seems like the best deal. I also like the idea of putting them both in a double amaray....

they were both the same price at the local walmart. the bonus disc is interesting but a little repetitive.

got mine for 14.87 plus tax

Here in Albany NY, my double pack scanned at the register @ 19.96. I was resigned to that price because I always seek out bonus discs which are only available at one retailer. As I was walking out of the store, I passed the customer service area. Before waiting in line, I flagged down a floor manager and explained the 2 prices in this store. She was polite but had all kinds of reasons why the bonus disc was 5 dollars more than the single disc. I told her someone on the message board claimed their Walmart priced both equally. She thought it over then agreed to give me the double pack for the sale price of $14.87!
Moral of the story: I really wish corporate giants would have consistency from store to store.
I was impressed with this young woman's courtesy. She was definitely a cut above what I was expecting.
