I"m falling behind, I haven't even picked up season two yet (Maybe this week, the price and low cash on hand has been keeping me from getting it). I have season one, I even have the original issue of the Pilot episode from a few years back. I can't wait until I have the entire series on DVD it is one of my all-time favorite shows.
Now if only Max Headroom will be released I could die almost completely happy.

Ron Epstein, co-owner of The Home Theater Forum website (recently written up by Forbes as being among "The Best of the Web", a well-deserved honor), has posted a press release there from Universal Studios Home Entertainment featuring all the TV-to-DVD releases they have planned from January to May 2005. While almost all of it has already been announced separately, the last three items were unknown up until now. Among those are Quantum Leap - Season 3, selling for $49.98 SRP with a May 10th release date:
Fans of the extraordinary time-travel series Quantum Leap have a third chance to bring home their favorite show on DVD. Quantum Leap - Season 3 arrives on May 10, 2005 and delivers even more excitement with 22 unforgettable episodes of Dr. Sam Beckett's (Scott Bakula) extraordinary epoch-hopping personal transformations. Accompanied by his wisecracking holographic guide Al (Dean Stockwell), Sam never knows when, where or who he'll be next. Guest appearances include Tia Carrere, Josie Bissett and Patrick Warburton. Nominated for eight Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, Quantum Leap - Season 3 is priced at $49.98 SRP.
To read the press release in it's entirety, please visit the thread at The Home Theater Forum. Our thanks to Ron and the folks at HTF for, well, everything! Stay tuned and we'll bring you cover art and more details once Universal makes their individual announcements for the May titles.

I have this set now and am checking on whatever music I can remember being in the show.
He still sings "Imagine" in The Leap Home (and they play it again over the closing credits of the episode).
Anyone have anything specific tunes they want me to check?

Blargh, found the first obvious replacement. At the end of "The Leap Home, Part II" I recall hearing "I Wish It Would Rain" (by The Temptations IIRC) before the big reveal and the score music kicks in. On the DVD it's peppy generic sax music in the background.

There is a warning on the case this time. On the back, in very small print: Music may differ from televised version.
If I wasn't looking for it though I would have never seen it. No one glancing at the back of the case in a store is going to notice it.

Are you looking for confirmation of my posts from above? He still sings Imagine, however songs are replaced, including "I Wish It Would Rain" from the end scene of The Leap Home II.

I just finished season 2 a few hours ago. On the whole the replaced music wasn't as awful as I suspected. Pretty low key and just background noise. HOWEVER, M.I.A. is officially ruined. Compared to the rest of the season, they cranked up that cheesy shit and totally ruined it. Took out every song from that episode.
I need to hunt down another source, VHS or recorded to DVR to transfer to DVD. They handled that completely wrong.
That being said, that episode was still very emotional. I hadn't seen it since it aired, I'm sure with the songs it would have been an even bigger impact.
I'm looking forward to season 3, especially the Leap Home(s) and the finale. When did Alia make her first appearance? When was the first time they actually show Gushy, Ziggy, the project and the waiting room? It has been so long, I'm loving these sets, despite what Paramount is doing to them.

Paramount is the "double-the-price, half-the-extras" studio.

has anyone had any issues with these discs? Specifically 'the Leap Home - part 2?'
I had to try 3 different dvd players before it worked right.
Sony - bad pixilation
Momitsu - totally froze, locked up machine
Toshiba - worked and played fine even in the parts I had problems before
