DVDs with Cinematography featurettes/documentaries?
I'm trying to find any DVDs that have special features dedicated to the film's cinematography, especially lighting. I've found a few that give the director of photography a commentary track, which is cool. But I'm specifically looking for featurettes or mini-documentaries that discuss the lighting and perhaps show a bit of the behind-the-scenes setups that go into achieving those effects. I'm interested in any genre, but I'd really like to find some that deal with horror, noir, or any darker-looking movies. It could be b&w or color, Hollywood or indie, etc.
Do any discs have something like this? |
In the Mouth of Madness has a commentary with John Carpenter and his DP Gary Kibbe.
I'm sure theres other commentaries/documentaries about the DP and lighting and such, but can't think of any right off hand. |
Subscribe to American Cinematographer. It'll be the best source of info you'll find on this subject for a particular movie.

Check out the excellent documentary about cinematography titled VISIONS OF LIGHT, which has now been released on DVD.
