Taxi Driver CE

Haha.
My disc claims the runtime for the film is 135 mins.
However, on the case, it says 114 mins. (which is right.)

Anyone else have a mis-printed runtime disc?

steebo777 01-12-05 01:33 PM

Per IMDB - Runtime: 113 min / Spain:110 min (cut version)

sureAV421 01-12-05 02:05 PM

my disc also says 135 min.

Couldn't you put it in your DVD player and look at the time remaining at the start of the film?

FatTony 01-12-05 04:22 PM

That's it! I've had enough!!! Anyone else in the mood for a class action lawsuit???

:D

Yes. Yes I could. ;)

Cameron 01-12-05 06:52 PM

how long are the special features?

supersonicx 01-12-05 07:23 PM

There's a 70 minute "Making Of" featurette...
A "Photo Montage" that is around 7 minutes...

Is this the best version we are gonna get? With all of Scorcese's movies being revamped on DVD (Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Mean Streets, etc...)
Why not Taxi Driver???????

It's up to the studio that controls it. The titles you mentioned are owned by either Warner or MGM; Columbia/Sony owns TD.

Brain Stew 01-14-05 10:36 PM

Considering that the MSRP on this title is $15 bucks (which means it's probably being sold for less) and the picture and sound are as good as they're likely to ever be, I am content with the current release. The only thing to sweeten the deal would be a commentary.

natevines 01-14-05 10:44 PM

There's a criterion LD with a nice commentary, right?

Yeah, at the time the CE DVD came out Criterion refused to sell commentaries, so it was kept off the disc. Now, Criterion has changed their tune and sold a couple commentaries.

Cameron 01-15-05 12:54 AM

and this is the second release of the movie...
