Any word on the Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe (the '79 cartoon)?

I love that version and have it on VHS but hopefully it will come out when the new version does this Fall. Any thoughts or info on that? This is my first post by the way, so hello!

Is this really the right version? The IMDB says the 1979 version does not have a DVD version, just VHS... I think this story is public domain, so there are many hack studios that could possibly do their own version...

Yes, that's the correct version (the 1979 cartoon). I've had the DVD for about a year and a half now... decent quality (nothing amazing, nothing to complain about).

Barnes & Noble stores have this, if you feel more comfortable ordering elsewhere:

I wonder why I never heard of this release on DVD, we used to watch the VHS back in elementary school, which prompted me to read the Chronicles. Just recently I checked out the BBC's TLTWATW production and was extremel disappointed. Hopefully the release later this year will at least somewhat live up to the expectations to fans of the books.

IMDB has an exclusive deal w/ Amazon so if Amazon doesn't offer it, it doesn't show up. For those concerned about the etailer I've used them a couple of times before and aside from the number of trees it must take to send all the catalogs they bombard you w/ I haven't had any problems w/ them. As far as the DVD itself unfortunately I haven't seen it yet so I can't comment... some people in this thread did though http://dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread....ighlight=witch

Like nemein said, they are a perfectly respectable store. In fact, they are one of the bigger Christian-oriented e-tailers out there.

Live action version coming in Dec '05. Apparently, special effects are done by WETA Workshop (LOTR), meaning it should be very good

That's the version of LW&W that I grew up on (and really enjoyed). It was put out by the BBC and was followed by the next three books in two more releases.

Anyone who has the cartoon version: are the voice actors British or American? I want to get it, but only if it has the original British voices.
