This release had 2 different "packages" the one with UPC 085393984625 has been discontinued. The other release (085392425624) was for major distribution and is still in print.

Got lucky and found Wages Of Fear at Half Price Books just today for 14.98 Already had Diabolique. Not all OOP Criterions dry up overnight, but you never know which ones will....
For some reason my area Hastings was dumping new copies of the double disc green case Re-Animator for $5 bucks a pop - they had 2 or 3 copies a couple of weeks ago.

Someone posted this information over at criterionforum.org.
I tried to call CC and cancel my order, since I'd rather have the better edition, but it's already shipped. They said I could just bring it to my local store and get a credit or refund once I've received it, so I'll probably do that.
It is official. I got a statement from HVE in the mail today.
"Effective May 16, 2005, the Criterion Collection DVD of Wages of Fear will be on moratorium. The Criterion Collection will be releasing a newly re-mastered version of the DVD later in 2005".
The moratorium date is 5/16/2005
