Not on DVD in any region that I've ever been able to find.

I own the Japanese widescreen laserdisc (only release on LD) so I'm satisfied.

Fun little aussie horror flick from the director who would go on to make Highlander - pretty much downhill for him after that, though...unless you liked Ricochet (yes) or Highlander 2 (blech)

Its coming out from Anchor Bay in the UK. A cool film it is too.

I've been hoping this film would come out someday... I really like the director.

Brett C 01-10-05 01:47 AM

Yeah Ive been dying to see the film in its original scope format, it was very well shot by Dean Semler. Add to that, Ive never seen it in stereo either, just crummy old pan and scan tapes with mono sound. Can wait for the DVD!

Trigger 01-10-05 06:08 AM

Oh yeah - my bad... it was Dean Semler that I liked. I saw Razorback because he filmed Road Warrior.

It appears this disc coming from Anchor Bay.UK will be screwed up before its even out, if the Aspect Ratio of 185.1 they have listed in the specs all around the net are true? The film was shot in the scope ratio of 2.35.1 and I hope its just a mistake, Ive waited too long for this film to comeout to be treated like this...

An Australian version of Razorback from Umbrella entertainment is coming out september 21st. It is a special edition

The Aspect Ratio 2:35:1
Dolby 5.1
Deleted Scenes
Doco "Jaws on Trotters" which is 70 minutes long interviews with Director Russell Mulcahy, Producer Hal McElroy, Razorback designer Bob McCarron and cast members Judy Morris, Chris Haywood
Audio recollections from Gregory Harrison
Theatrical Trailer
Stills and poster gallery

The Umbrella will be much better. Its all regions but you need a PAL system

Brett C 08-15-05 08:28 PM

The docu at 70mins sounds good but I'm very annoyed the film itself like on the R2 Anchor Bay DVD, which shares the same master as the upcoming R4 is the cut Aust, M rated cinema version.

Trigger 08-15-05 10:28 PM

What are you saying, Brett? It's cut or something?

And since it'll be all regions - just a reminder that the Xbox will play PAL DVDs and convert them to NTSC (as long as they are region 0).

Brett C 08-15-05 11:23 PM

Yes its cut, the Australian video release was an R Rated, much bloodier version than whats being released on these DVDs.

gordon_campers 08-16-05 01:24 AM

I think they have put the gore in the deleted scenes, with other stuff they cut.

gordon_campers 08-16-05 06:25 PM

If your going to get one get the Umbrella version its the best transfer of image and sound and will have the best extras out of all of the releases.

Brett C 08-16-05 07:06 PM

Well the Umbrella version shares the exact same transfer as the Anchor Bay DVD, but the R4 is the one to get for the extras.
