I want it... Movie wasnt anything special, but that set is bad ass

matome 01-11-05 08:48 AM

The set looks cool, but the movie wasn't worth $.02, so your just basically paying $40 for the busts. I'll probably try to pick it up! :)

NotoriousDRE 01-12-05 05:33 AM

I'll be picking this up

silent 01-13-05 12:14 PM

pitty about it being a blockbuster exclusive, movie is crappy but wife liked it, I want those busts though :D
should anyone be willing to pick one up for me and ship it, lemme know :)

dgc 01-13-05 12:31 PM

I'll pass.

I didn't care for the film and personally I think the busts look like crap.

eiker_ir 01-13-05 12:36 PM

isn't there supposed to be a unrated cut released later? i rather wait for that, and maybe they'll do something like this for that version.

there's an alternate beginning (which is on the R3 as well think) - whole 2 minutes extra which are pretty much worthless IMHO. rumours about are a unrated cut are just that - rumours. If I'm not mistaken, even the director himself said that there won't be a unrated cut.

Where did you hear that there is not going to be an unrated edition. I read somewhere that he was extremely dissatified with how 20th century cut his movie. I thought this was a sign that there was going to be an unrated edition.

mzupeman2 01-13-05 02:57 PM

You guys can hold out for a directors cut (which may not ever happen anyways) if you want. If you didn't like this movie before, you won't like it after some extra footage is put back in. It won't be able to save this movie, and that's the bottom line.

Jackskeleton 01-13-05 03:03 PM

Yup. a directors cut wont add anything of use. Paul Anderson was just trying to save his ass from mob justice when he proclaimed that it was the studios doing that his film was butchered. The script had nothing that saved it that was cut out.

Dutin 01-13-05 03:36 PM

I'm all over this! Two bust and a movie and I can use my BB credit !

DVDFever 01-14-05 08:57 AM

damn i want this badly... too bad i dont live in the us!

Anybody looking for some paypal??

clappj 01-14-05 11:13 AM

They look cool, but $25 for busts made of cheap plastic seems a bit much!
If they were metal though... ;)

I didn't see anything in the link that said they were plastic. Look like pewter to me from the two pics. Can you let me know where you found this info?

I like to think so, but something tells me the two keys words you used are "look like."

You still don't cite where you got the info that they were plastic from. I'm interested to know if this is just your assumption, or if there is proof. I definately won't be picking these up if they are plastic busts, but if they are pewter, then I may consider.

Turrican 01-19-05 09:24 AM

Hi there, is there any news yet about the material the busts are made of? I'm nost so sure if I'd go for plastic. There's a high risk that it might look cheap.

Rammsteinfan 01-19-05 10:37 AM

I just saw the set last night at Blockbuster... its $29.99 and has two small resin busts. They are about 3-5 inches tall or so. Its an okay set. It is limited to 25,000 pieces.

For $30 I may bite, but I don't have anywhere to display these busts....maybe...who knows.

Father Karras 01-19-05 12:53 PM

I also saw this box set this afternoon at a local Blockbuster. They had about 6 of them behind the counter but wouldn't sell me one until next Tues. I asked if I could see one of the boxes and they let me. The busts are small (about 4 inches high). I'd say the quality is good but not great from what I could see. The back of the box states that both are made of resin (so these are not plastic as some had suspected). The box also states that the these are limited to 25,000 (I assume the busts are numbered because there was no numbering on the outside of the boxes that I could see). The box set scanned at $29.99.

movieking 01-20-05 11:54 AM

Anyone know if this will be available in Canada?

Mike Lowrey 01-20-05 12:17 PM

The Predator bust looks cool. Don't really care for the Alien bust.

MattDesign 01-20-05 01:53 PM

Haha, I saw the movie twice. I liked it :)

$40 is a good deal with the busts, even if the quality of the busts look so-so.

Yes, probably priced at around $50 Canadian.

Well isn't resin basically just sort of like a heavier plastic?
