Actually it's an ... ahem... adult film, same title, though. Still, it too is a hell of a deal, as it's a very rare, sought after OOP DVD that never goes up for sale, and if it ever does, I think it will go for a heftier price than the Criterion flick (some dude is sellign copies on there right now). I just got really, really lucky because I just happened to check out its availablity, and nothing was listed. I refreshed the screen and then there it was!

My DVD Collection/LD Collection

I know! It's daunting, especially with the detail I'm following so others can learn about good deals out there, not to mention a spending practice that leaves you with a profit (if you are nto precious about keeping DVDs, that is [I really only keep stuff I really like, otherwise I sell, especially OOP DVDs that bring in the $]).

I want to continue to the end though; only 3 months to go! Plus, it really does curb your spending. Sometimes I actually think: "Do I really want to buy this? I have to input it on my DVDTalk post!" LOL. But I'm not doing this next year, as I also have a spreadsheet going on my computer-- that's much easier and enough to keep track of stuff.

I haven't kept track, but I can guestimate.
1. Pawn XChange had a sale in July, all DVDs 4/$20, I hit 4 or 5 stores in Seattle, Lynnwood, and Everett. I bought about 130, so that's $560 with tax (Sadly, I probably left over 50 that were scratched). They NEED to do this again!!
2. I've purchased 70 or so on ebay/half.com at $5-$7 each, that's probably about $400.
3. Add another 15 or so from other online stores during sales, that's about $110.
4. The end of October and into November was by far the most I've spent in a month. I refinanced my car and saved over $1000 in interest, so I got all available seasons of The A-Team, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nip/Tuck, Scrubs, The Sopranos, Homicide: Life on the Street, South Park.. I also bought quite a few movies and boxed sets. Total: $1100

This month has been bad, between a guy selling newer used dvds for 5.00 on the street outside the cathedral, bestbuy bucks, all the reward zone certificates from my sisters-in-law's computer, and my finacial aid check coming in, I have spent a lot of money this month...

I use Amazon.com gift certificates fairly often (Thanks Discover Card) and I average shipping and tax into everything (especially Columbia House)
