Smirnoffski,

What are you thoughts on the KD-34XBR960?

I am actually very satisfied with it. It replaced a regular 27in Sony trinitron.
We also have a 36in XBR450 from 3 years ago in the den.
Both sets are running HD programming but the 960 is noticeably sharper.
DVDs running from a Denon 2200 look phenomenal on the 960.
It was initially a decision between a DLP, a Plasma and this set, and I am definately satisified with my choice.
Although its a bulky (I don't think I'll be moving this anytime soon), this set really has the best picture I have seen.
After adjusting to this set for the past 7 months, i recently dropped by an electronics to just look around only to discover that I couldn't bare to stand more than a few seconds in front of any other TV.
Also, although the set is only 34in you are getting a relatively large screen because you can sit closer than other TV sets.
Only complaints are slight geometry issues but are not noticeable if you are not looking for them. But otherwise, best 2K i spent. :)

You are claiming that CRTs are sharper and have better colors than Plasma?

Having upgraded my Sony 34XBR800 to my Panny 42PWD, I'm really going to have to disagree with you there.

As I was the second Plasma voter in this thread, I can't believe there are only 3 other plasma owners here...
