The Walt Disney Treasures series is the best bet for the movie to be released because of it's controversary. The series is geared towards collectors, and releasing SOTS as a regular disney family film could get them in trouble, without the proper introduction and/or "warnings".
Of course, Disney could easily release it as a "Special Edition" and have the same introduction/warnings, but I guess many of us are thinking about the wartime cartoons that were released on the WTD series, which Disney employees themeselves thought would never see the light of day.
