I'm kinda in the same boat, if I can I'd keep them in the bedroom or closet - not to take anything away from fellow posters however..and I certainly appreciate a nice-looking presentation when I see one. I'm looking forward to getting my own place and a nice set-up.. hopefully sometime later this year.

Sould be able to post in part 7...

i would agree with that. i wound up getting two huge bookcases from ikea and putting doors on them. i sacrificed a lot of space for those doors, but its far more aesthetically pleasing with the doors. all the dvds, with all their different colors, is just a big ugly blur of clashing colors.

if only i took this approach with my books. another mess of color noise i haven't disguised.

Same here - I have cabinets from www.shopperinc.com that are identical to the Can-Am cabinets. Everything is put away nice, safe from the dust and under lock and key if I need it that way...

It is the R3 Korean Version. Nice pull out Digipak w/ a 3D like picture of C. Bale and DTS. Excellent video and sound for a cool flick.

Here are pics of my very modest HT setup. I guess I forgot to show the surround speakers; they are there.

probably a dumb question, but are the Death Wish movies all R1? I always thought they were snappers.

Yeah, all of mine are region 1. I got them all cheap (well 2-5) at Circuit City a while back. They came in keep cases.

Well... slightly updated from my earlier post....
Yea... i know my HD tuner and reciever are vertical... it is just temporary until I setup the room the way i really want it. They have enough room to breathe and that is the big thing for me.

Basic Specs:
Sony 30in WS hdtv HS420
Yamaha HTR-5630 with JBL floorstanding fronts yamaha center and rears
ReplayTv -=- Motorola Comcast HD box via HDMI -=- JVC switcher
Good old Toshiba SD-4900 as my all-around player.
Xbox / PS2 / Gamecube all hooked up, Saturn currently is not
Proformance Record player for the few singles I currently have (will be growing soon...)

And... since It is back a few pages... closeup of the xbox itself.

am i the only one slightly annoyed at the growing trend of posting enormous pictures of their collections? (misterT, linko, you know who i'm talking about)

if i wanted to see a picture of every single dvd you own, i'd print out your list and go to best buy. if you find yourself taking a picture per rack or picture per shelf ... you're doing something wrong.

i have like 500 dvds and i don't see myself needing more than a couple pictures to show my collection. which i'd post ... if i had a camera.

I couldnt agree more. I dont need to see every shelf of every title. I nice over veiw shot will be fine.

Rypro 525... I love seeing the Alias Box Set on your coffee table... Alias is the bomb

Guess I'm different. I'd actually rather see what everyone has instead of just seeing their room and the way it's all set up.

To satisfy everyone, people could always post a picture or two of their collection and HT setup, and then posts links to close-up shots so that people can see each individual title if they're interested.

understood, but that's why you have not one but three different links in your signature listing what you own.

i would hate to have a huge run of people posting pictures of their x-files/startrek/simpsons/lord of the rings/whatever dvds that really don't need an introduction at this point. (i think people've gone so far as to say it's not a question of if you have some of these, but where in the pictures are they located)

but i guess shagrath has a fair idea.
