Bravo! Don't mind these PETA people. They're a bunch of animal killing hypocrits anyway.

Now, it's not really fair to generalize PETA like that.

This is what my budget has allowed:

I just bought 3 of those shelves at Walmart today for $20 each. I really like those. I needed them badly because I had 150 movies stacked in my apt. They hold about 75 each.

10baggio, you have a cool setup, by dear lord why do you have that Michael Jackson standup? He does touch children in the bathing suit area after all.

Then again, I suppose he fits in the with the horror stuff.

Guys, seriously, most of us come here to see pictures of HT setups. We don't want to wade through this animal/PETA/ debate crap. Could we carry on that discussion elsewhere please?

Calm down dude. It's not everyday that you have a dvd talk member with a unique pet. If people have questions, let them ask. The subject will die down on its own.

Mr. Cinema: Did you buy those Wal-Mart shelving inside the store? Last time I asked I was told those were only available online.

I just got two of these today at my B&M walmart. They were located in the furniture section right behind the entertainment area. There was one on display so that is how I was able to spot it.

Hi Folks:

Haven't posted much, but thought I would add some pictures of our DVD/TV room and our Home Theater Cabinet.

Our collection is roughly 1600 DVDs and going strong...

(That serval, I believe, could eat my dog for a snack and come back for more?)

Outstanding Krampster, simply outstanding! You can add me onto that list of folks wanting to see more of your house as well! Looking for any 30ish children to share your home with??

I don't display my DVDs in the house. They're in a closet with the door shut. Very well organized, but not on display. All these displays look like tacky video store advertisements to me. imo.

Kramster, you totally hired that dog to make your screen look bigger. Fess up.

Wow--thanks for the nice comments re: my collection and home--my wife and I have two young children and have collected/watch DVDs at home as we don't get out to movie theater as much as we'd like:

Cynthia: It's a pool. All of one month old, and one of those projects that took on a life (and, unfortunately, budget) of its own--I'll try to take/post some pictures soon.

Buckee1: Have my hands full without a 30 year old addition to the family, but if you're ever in the Philadelphia area you're welcome to drop by for a swim.

JesseCuster8: Extremely funny! (You know what they say, big screen, big......well, let's just say the scale of our dog makes everything look bigger at our house....ahem).

whotony: would love to say I built them myself, but I'm not that handy. We hired a woodworker to build them for us--went with painted wood rather than stained or a higher quality exposed wood finish to save money (I did paint them after they were built). They are bookshelf depth rather than DVD depth, just in case our interests change in the future (unlikely!).

I see the reference to the WIP 610 AM on your website, and assume you're in the Philly area? If so, and you're interested in the name of the woodworker, would be happy to send you contact information.
