con air special edition?

what are the odds of getting a better release of this movie in the future?

neatMCsammer 12-31-04 06:28 PM

A billion to one!

Fok 12-31-04 07:16 PM

The R4 version is pretty good aparently. With all the re-releases, I'm hoping for an SE as well.

jessebo 12-31-04 07:24 PM

yep, since the original release date was in 1998, you would think they would have come up with a better release by now.

Cameron 12-31-04 07:29 PM

it will happen

The Cow 12-31-04 07:57 PM

they are still waiting for the "frickin laser beams" for an SE... ODDs: I'd give it 50:1 against.

speedyray 12-31-04 08:17 PM

I would wager 10:1.

Personally I bet there will be one in the next two or three years, but it can be had cheap used - been out forever.

Ive been holding off for a better release... bring it on.

jaeufraser 12-31-04 10:30 PM

Maybe they'll do a Nic Cage/Jerry Bruckheimer DVD redo when National Treasure hits DVD to capitilize on that connection. If it doesn't happen around then, I wouldn't expect it to happen anytime soon.

DavidH 01-01-05 01:46 AM

With Blu Ray and HD-DVD on the near horizon, I suspect studios will try and pump out second versions of every standard DVD movie that's left to do so. I would guess Con Air will happen this year. Vista needs to re-release Crimson Tide while they are at it.

Yeah and add Enemy of the State to that list. They could market them together - can't see a better time than with the National Treasure DVD release.

Or I suppose Tony Scott's next - Domino. Not sure which studio it's for though...

Agreed. Now is the time to cash in if it's going to be done.....

DoubleDownAgain 01-22-06 11:22 PM

Great news. I've been holding out on both.

Bill Geiger 01-22-06 11:43 PM

Great, I just traded my R2 Enemy of the State the other day! Didn't know about the new editions.

Shazam 01-23-06 12:04 AM

So how many Quatloos did I win?

Artman 01-23-06 12:48 AM

Would've been nice last year Disney... I will probably get all three since they're priced reasonably.

Crimson Tide was pictured in the Blu-Ray displays....think it'll be out this yr?

Mr. Cinema 01-23-06 06:20 AM

Cool. The Enemy of the State SE will now only be officially delayed an entire year.

I remember reading it was coming out in May of '05.

Deadman31 02-08-06 09:31 PM

Will the theatrical cuts be included?

rdodolak 02-08-06 09:50 PM

The original aspect ration was 2.35:1 and BVHE is re-releasing it in 1.85:1? Even though the re-release is an anamorphic transfer, if the aspect ratio currently stated by dvdactive.com is correct then I'm not going to bother with this new release.

Artman 02-08-06 10:17 PM

Same here... I'll just hope the inevitable BR release is correct.

Would love both theatrical and extended cuts, but all indications point to no. Not surprising.
