Around the World in 80 Days (1956) - This is one of my favorite movies and Warner's 2-disc SE was my most anticipated of the entire year.
However, I got to see a lot of movies for the first time, thankfully through DVD...
THX 1138 is my favorite "re-discovery." It's one of my favorites now.
Other favorites...
the 2nd Looney Tunes 4-disc set... over half of the cartoons are favorites. I also love the Tomorrowland and On the Front Lines volumes of Walt Disney Treasures.

In no particular order:
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Film Noir Collection
The Pink Panther Collection
Disney's Tomorrowland
Disney's On the Front Lines
Mon Oncle (missed it the first time around)
THX-1138
Videodrome
La Dolce Vita
The Party
The Errand Boy
The Peter Sellers Collection
LOTR-ROTK EE
The Big Clock
Experiment in Terror
After Hours
Eyes Without a Face
Betty Blue-Director's Cut
L'Appartement - Region 2 (Blows Wicker Park away ... far away .. although Wicker Park is not a tragic remake).
And last and perhaps under the radar for many ...
Paris, Texas
Available for just over 7 bucks from DeepdiscountDVD (currently out of stock) or 9 bucks at Amazon. Has Wim Wenders Commentary track, 23 minutes of anamorphic deleted scenes (with optional director's commentary) and available for three times less than the European version. For a DVD comparison:

If you really like the film, this becomes truly a no-brainer.
