Movies with great cat chase

I'm looking for movies with great car chasing scenes. I especially like European cars. In the recent years, Ronin, Transporter and Italian Job showed nice car chasing actions with Audis, BMWs, and Minis.

Can you think of other movies with good European car chasing scenes?

What about Bourne Identity/Supremacy? Although I don't remember what kind of cars.

another vote for ronin. First half of that movie just kicks butt. Ronin may be the best chase in movies the last 20 years.

Another good overlooked chase is in the george cooney movie PEACEMAKER. one of the few chases where chasee takes the offensive in the end.

Although this is in the wrong forum (movie forum), how the hell did everyone forget Bullitt and The French Connection?

Also, Gone in 60 Seconds and Rendezvous (R2).

Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)
Arguably the best pure car chase movie ever filmed. It spends maybe half of the movie setting it up, and the rest of the movie is one long chase with some outstanding car stunts. Most people had never heard of this movie until the year 2000 when Nicholas Cage starred in the Jerry Bruckheimer remake of the movie. But the remake doesn't compare to the original which boasts 93 wrecked cars in a 95 minute movie.

Vanishing Point
This 1971 cult classic stars Barry Newman as Kowalski. His task? Drive a Dodge Challenger from Denver to San Francisco in 15 hours. A bit of a post-Easy Rider hippie flair, but the chase sequences set against the back drop of the open territory of the western states are spectacular.

What about To Live and Die in LA? That was a cool carchase! William Friedkin at it again.

The second I saw this thread I thought of Ronin, I'm surprised to see that Fast and the Furious hasn't been mentioned yet, there were some pretty good car scenes in that.

The mall chase in The Blues Brothers kicked a moderate amount of ass, don't you think?

I must have seen the same as him....the car chase was not that great. I'm with Pro-B....The Driver is my personal fave, but it has not been seen by enough people. it would help if they would finally release a domestic dvd of this, although the import dvd is one of my faves. I think the film kicks ass and has many great chase scenes.

One of the best car chases ever filmed was in a movie that has not seen the light in dvd...and that is the Seven Ups starring Roy Scheider.

Striking Distance has a pretty decent car chase toward the beginning of the movie.

jade

I have to admit, the car chase scene in "Jade" is probably my favorite. And it's one people don't seem to know about for some reason. No European cars, strictly big American cars, but a very cool chase with a very shocking beginning and end, and lots of big-ass San Francisco jumps in between.
