Got quite a few DVDs for Christmas this year. Between the wife and I, we racked in:

Carnivale: Season 1
Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan
The 4400: The Complete First Season
Slipknot: Disasterpieces
Poolhall Junkies
Predator 2disc
Comic Book, The Movie
Arrested Development: Season One
24: Season 3
Simpsons: Season 5
...And all 3 of the new WD Treasures (MMiB&W2, Pluto, and MM Club)

I,Robot R3 2disc & Shaun of the Dead R2 didn't show up in time, so I'll probably get those sometime next week.

This batch of movies pushed us over the 1000 mark! Woo!!

I got the Kurosawa Criterion box set. And a couple Best Buy gift cards, which of course goes right to the dvd department. Interestingly enough, the box set has a first edition print of Seven Samurai. I'm not sure if this is the hard to find one, but its still a cool-ass present.

as with every year....I don't get any from anyone. it's too hard to buy dvds for me because I'm so in control that I usually already have it. so I never even ask for any. I'm too anal and need to do the buying myself. besides....I just don't want my mother-in-law hunting around town and asking for Vampyros Lesbos. everything I bought for myself, my fave person to buy for, I listed below in my sig.

I think most of us would love to be in a store where your mother-in-law is shopping for Vampryos Lesbos: "Stop snickering, young man, it's for my son-in-law..."

Pretty much the same here. What I want, I buy for myself when I can. I did start to ask my sister for something like 24-Season 1, but I see Amazon has got a package deal for all 3 seasons for just $120 which comes out to $40/each which is about the best deal I've seen, so I'll probably get that myself sometime next year. My sister bought for my dad one of those laser levelers. One of the last few on the shelf anywhere, I might add...

What I did was to give a few DVDs to my sister. A few that I already had. (ie. Double-dippers.) Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, Underworld, and Hellboy. What I got in return was three Christmas CDs that I asked for by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (an off-shoot group from the rock band Savatage).

As a family, we bought Seinfeld - Season 3 for my cousin who already had the Season 1 & 2 set.
