Jules and Jim should be great!! Can't wait for that one! L'Eclisse is one of my favorite movies, too! It's about time for another criterion Antonioni
|
Never thought I'd be double-dipping on Jules et Jim, but that looks like a great set!
|
Everytime there is a Criterion thread listing upcoming titles, I always hope for Sword Of Doom. I love Samurai films. I clicked on this thread, scrolled down and almost wet my pants when I saw it. Cheap too for a Criterion. I emailed Homevision and Jon Mulvaney about Sword Of Doom and got the "We can't discuss titles beyond what are already mentioned." response. I should have known this meant it was in the works. First, Samurai Assassin from Animeigo in February and now this. 2 Kihachi Okamoto titles back to back.

Put me down for the Truffaut, Antonioni and Sword of Doom.
|
L'Eclisse, finally!!!! Sword of Doom, what I never heard of this, but on imdb.com its seems to be a pretty good film. Goody goody!!! Thanks for the info!
Cheers , DVD Smurf :) |
Wow, this whole thread deserves several happy dancing bananas. Great stuff!

Soo many new Criterions!! I'm lovin' it!
I really want all of them but may have to pass on Young Torless. |
Sword of Doom is an incredible film and I may well have to double dip on that one if the transfer is sufficiently good. Looks like I'll be returning my yet as unopened Fox Lorber Jules & Jim after the holidays as well.
|
jules & jim double dip for me.
|
The discs now have dates, according to CriterionDVD.com.

My Own Private Idaho is now March 1, and Kagemusha is March 29.
|
since kagemusha was moved....spine # still the same?
good titles all the way around. wish more box sets would show up to cut the cost of these titles |
...I am not so impressed with Jules and Jim's cover....they could have kept or used the MK2 covers as an inspiration.....

Pro, what you got against Asian cinema?
|
absolutely nothing....why? :hscratch:
Pro-B ps I am not sure what you have in mind but if you are asking why I am not picking up Kagemusha and Sword of Doom...there are 4 other dvds that I am picking up the same month (3 being non R1 releases) so my budget is pretty much limited. But I am not sure if this is your question....I am perplexed. |
I only asked because of your post that said you're not buying any of the Asian titles.
That, and even though you're prolific in the non-R1 section, you never seem to chime in on the Asian dvd threads. I was just wondering if there was something about Asian cinema you didn't like... |
Criterion changed the My Own Private Idaho cover art! Its now big heads!!!
