Cast Away 2-Disc set question
 

Hi everyone. I am considering getting Cast Away for my dad for Christmas(already got him "I Claudius" and "The Terminal 3-Disc Set") and I noticed that there are 2 different versions of the 2-Disc set. One(which I think has the cooler cover) has Tom's face on the cover. I believe this one is OOP. Also, I noticed over at DDD there is also a 2-Disc set there as well, with a cover that appears to show the side of Hanks as he is making a fire. Could someone tell me are the special features the same for both releases? Which one is the better of the two?

Anyway, there are two releases of the 2-disc Cast Away, and i believe both are the same except for the packaging. The first one, in a keepcase, should have gone out of print, and was re-released earlier this year in a digipak as part of Fox's numbered Collector's Editions.

same set up the one making fire is in a digi pack the disc with the full on hanks face is in a keep case

yea nothing new just the same old thing.

Exact same disc, just different cases. However, if you are at a store like Target they also have an amaray case with the same picture on the cover, though it's not widescreen and only contains one disc instead of the two. Make sure you look for the Special Edition Two Disc Set banner.
